i fucking hate tenured professors... anyone driving up on saturday night by any chance? might have to miss this one as well. =/ paid an undergrad $60 to proctor an exam an asshole of a professor wanted me to proctor for him because he doesnt want to do it himself. douchenozzle professor found out and just came to my office with my phd contract saying that proctoring was part of my duties...arguing with him about what difference it made if i did it or an ugrad did it made things worse. should have kept my mouth shut. unless i can get the chair involved which at this stage i will because i am not just proctoring for him but grading his fucking final as well, im screwed out of yet another meet told him i already had plans and had booked plane tickets as well and he responded with, "well now you know better than to make academics your second priority." fffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu i hereby give all hc members the authority to kill me if i ever become this kind of professor.

the prices arent bad at all. i just have issues with anyplace that doesnt let me wear shorts.

never heard a gs1. that would be nice. actually i have never heard any of the gear listed shelly but i think ben said he could bring the 800. not sure though. i think shelly's is maybe the 3rd post in 460 about gear

just figured out how to get the remote to work. have to remove the back panel from the remote and remove a tab that is prevent the battery circuit from completing. both remote and dac seem solid. kinda wish that werent the case. one the guys around here just got his bike stolen...oh well. the thing is cheap enough to where i could get two. but that would be a waste. might get another desk and put all the audio stuff underneath that one to hide it. sonically i like it. if memory serves me well, its faster than the parasound 1100 and gamma 2. one of the better sources ive heard. yes i know ive been using my laptop as a source.

very very very nice dac. waaaaaaay nicer bass than gamma 2 based on 10 minutes of listening. sounds faster/more nimble. can now hear things i wasnt hearing with the sound card. (using usb + foobar). build quality is pretty nice. only wish i could get the damn remote to do something =/

nate, i didnt want to have two dac's around (even though i should have kept the gamma around for comparison and sold the "loser"). meh. gamma 2's are readily available so not terribly hard to secure. janna called me back when i was in class and left me a voicemail saying that she confused me with the other anurag that had also placed an order (...eh? more people named anurag?) and my dac will ship tomorrow or day after but the other guys will not. basically confirmed what mike posted earlier in the day. now this pico dac deal...hmm

just spoke with janna at emotiva. a certain number of people who have been contacted already will receive the dac this year. those of us who preordered but did not give payment info fast enough will be informed of the shipping date next financial quarter. i dont see this dac getting to me anytime before next summer at the very least. thought i was going to get it now and preemptively sold my gamma 2 dac now no dac. should i just buy something else and forget about the emotiva dac?

I had a problem with the last amp i built with pcb mounted sockets where the tubes werent straight (probably because the sockets werent parallel to the board. anyone have any tips on how i can get the sockets all mounted level so the tubes can stick out straight?

still fscked up. taking it to the apple store on monday.

this 4.2 update blows. everything freezes now. google voice has been rendered useless. messages take like 5 seconds to open. the push function for gmail doesnt work anymore. how do i got back to 4.1?
