  1. I guess timing is everything, this consultant e-mailed back today and him and three of his colleagues will be on campus next week for two lectures. I will attend both and introduce myself in person. I am pumped.
  2. Holy damn I think I enjoyed spring break too much, senioritis has arrived. Found it pretty painful to sit through employment law today. Maybe that's because it was employment law. On the job-hunt-front, had an acquaintance take my resume and shoot it up the ladder of the referral system to a Bradley alumni at Accenture, where he started working in December. Also made a second attempt at contacting a Bradley alumni who's doing consulting work for a fairly well-respected firm in Chicago. I have high hopes for both. Another in-person interview on Friday afternoon. Really want this one to go well. Really want a job, period.
  3. Same. I got some more granola, man I love that shit.
  4. too late i have dibs
  5. Al you badass, have a great birthday!
  6. Crap picture. It's fucking delicious. Earlier - Founder's Imperial Stout.
  7. One of the many unfortunates who missed out on DL tix, as Mike is well aware. Decided to buy an extra brew for my stout tasting to try and make myself feel better - Boulevard Smokestack Imperial Stout. Glad you were able to land tickets as well Emelius.
  8. What the hell. What happened to 6? Lol.
  9. I'm looking forward to it, one of those is a 2010 Vintage that GI kept in their warehouse for over a year. The other is a standard 2011. Hooray for mini-vertical.
  10. Today's take. Total 3 day. I'm done, I swear.
  11. Sorry to hear that Ken, best wishes to you and Stacy.
  12. Starting early tonight. Lagunitas Hop Stoopid. It's alright, would rather a DFH 90 min. right now.
  13. since when do we get a tweet function up in this bitch?

  14. Sounds like you did great Jacob, 'grats bro. My second round interview looks like it will be in two weeks from today.
  15. Very much looking forward to it Al. Just got lucky on the KBS... going to try and land a few extra single 12 oz's tomorrow morning if possible. Emelius - were you able to get your reserves? I must admit, I'm going to miss spring breaks. Spending all day doing nothing but running and perusing retail beer stocks has been delightful.
  16. The center one is in honor of Al.
  17. Beggars can't be choosers, eh Steve?
  18. After assuming I'd be only able to grab a single 12 oz from one of the local places here in oak park, the beer guy at Whole Foods River Forest was hugely generous and grabbed this out of the remaining 3 or 4 in back.
  19. Not exactly right now but a few hours earlier - Stone Old Guardian on tap. Ended up being a bit better than I expected and thus far the best brew I've had yet from those dudes with a gargoyle fetish.
  20. Thanks guys, and yes Jacob I'd certainly rather just pick up some buckets of money occasionally instead of this whole "work" thing . Steve - been trying to live by the virtues you've taught me but some of the interviewers are getting offended when I offer extra favors that show my truly-tangible skills. How can I improve on my offers? In all seriousness, I've had some not-so-good luck with more recent interviews (particularly over the phone) so going into this one I really stepped back and focused on how I needed to relate my experiences and attitude specifically to this exact job. I guess it helped.
  21. Best of luck Jacob, had a phone interview myself at 10 this morning and was given a second interview invite immediately, which is a first. You'll do great.
  22. Sorry Al and Nate, two very different kinds of bad news .
  23. beer >>> knives and lenses. soonish sounds good though.
  24. Lol thanks Al. Damn Jacob knowing all my secrets. Speaking of FFF, when you headed back to visit? I wanna hit up the brewpub again.
  25. Well the first half of my crazy week has went pretty well. Interview in Chicago on Friday was great, just took the train in and talked to three different women for about 2 hours. More discussion-based than formality, which I prefer. Should hear back this week (I hope). Stayed at Allison's until Sunday morning and then drove back to Peoria. Rocked my exam last night and my exam this morning. Interview here at Bradley with Caterpillar went fairly well, albeit much shorter and more standard which is fine. Should hear back on that one tomorrow. Added another phone screening/interview for tomorrow at noon. Economics exam at 2 p.m. that I'm a little concerned about. One last exam Thursday afternoon that is going to be easy as hell, then I leave immediately from Peoria back home. Wake up early on Friday and drive back up to Chicago for an all-day second interview with a consulting company. My goal is to grab multiple job offers before April.
