  1. Goddamn, that looks absurdly good. Congrats Al! Steve, you da man.
  2. Wishing you and your husband the very best, Shelly.
  3. Had a great weekend with Allison and her family, celebrated her mom's birthday and went out to breakfast this morning with her dad. Also started running again, six miles in the last two days. Been looking in the mirror and am really not happy with the direction I'm headed in. Allison is trying to get back at it too; she signed up for a 5K in three weeks and is gearing up for that. Both of these things combined have me more motivated. Pretty much decided that I'm going to pass on that internship my cousin has been trying to get me into. Again, a combination of factors here - 1) I've really no desire or interest to get into sales, even as an intern; 2) a senior consultant in Chicago (who's been serving as my mentor of sorts) told me that while the internship and the company are well-known and respected, he didn't think working for them would help me as a candidate for consulting jobs; 3) it's time for me to work full-time. At this point, working an internship seems like it will just delay the inevitable. I'd honestly rather spend all of my time job hunting with no distractions and start a full-time gig as soon as possible once I graduate. The consulting mentor helped me completely revamp my resume last week and I'm feeling refreshed, so that's a plus.
  4. The Bruery Rugbrod. Good stuff, I'm really liking it.
  5. Agreed. Best of luck Ken, the description sure sounded nice .
  6. Stone brewery release night here in Central Illinois. At kellehers I had Oaked Arrogant Bastard, double dry-hopped Sublimely Self Righteous, Double Bastard with chipotle peppers, 2010 Imperial Russian Stout, Ruination IPA, and Highway 78 all on tap for a grand total of $11.
  7. ^whatever Al said.^ Have a great one Tyler .
  8. Happy birthday Mike .
  9. Aye. I prefer the more robust varieties.
  10. Old Rasputin. It's a little too textbook for an RIS.
  11. Mike did you hear that they're going to bottle Zombie Dust? Rumor is they'll be in 6 packs.
  12. Welcome to the TP club Seth, I like the subtlety in your pair's aesthetics. I need to get black 02 pads at some point.

  20. Sorry about the job Jacob; yeah it sounds like it may not have ended up being ideal regardless. I'm having a hell of a time now. Basically, I spent the last 2 months trying to land some sort of back up job offer (like sales or management training programs) that would give me some peace of mind while trying to find something I'm truly interested in (business process consulting). Bad idea. I've gotten a handful of calls and interviews as I've been reporting here, but more and more I'm coming to realize that if it's not really what I want then my passion and motivation just sort of dies when I get to the interview (or soon afterwards). I feel like it's time to take a step back and redirect myself. I'm still hoping to hear something from my Accenture referral, since they are generalist consulting and that's fairly close to what I'd like. My cousin, a field director at northwestern mutual, called me last night and wants to put me on his new team of interns. This might actually be a smart move since their intern program is highly-regarded and it would allow me additional months to keep networking with consulting firms. I guess we'll see.
  21. Water. Dagnabbit, I left all my beer at the girlfriend's!
  22. unless providing bj's
  23. too cool for school

  24. I only entered one bracket group this year simply out of fear of the tournament being insane. I guess I made a smart decision. My group is all finished up, only two others and myself got 1/4 correct for the final four (UConn for me). I'll end up in second place with the person ahead of me picking UK to win it all. Probably could have won had I not done so poorly in the first two rounds. Vanderbilt and St. John's both really hurt me. I'm hoping for UConn v. Butler.
