Geneapalozza: A Celebration Of All Things Gene
I will have either the Brinkmann Integrated or a Cary 300b integrated but no headphones. I might have an Emotiva DAC and hopefully my loaner Amarra 4. Ken, sorry you can't make it. Gail has given me the green light. I hope to leave here by 1 pm which should get me there by 6 pm unless I can find something to schedule up there in the morning.

CJ, Spirit sucks. I don't think I would fly them if it were free. I don't think that gas and tolls to Tampa would be more than the cost of airfare. I believe tolls would be $3.00.

Al, I think that is the date. The Meet Master will chime in I'm sure when he is done doing....nothing? I mean he is retired, what could he have to do that is more important than this. Wait, maybe it's Mah Jong day at the condo.

Geneapalozza: A Celebration Of All Things Gene
I spoke to Jp and said to blow off Al and have the meet when he can attend. He said to remind everyone that he is "the glue". Now the truth. He said we should have the meet on 12/4,5,6 without him.

I'm going to buy one for my daughter just so I can say I have one in the family. I would love the 11", which will soon be able to upgraded to 256 SSD through an aftermarket source but the iPad still is my choice for my use. If I could run Parallels on it without issue, the 13" could be my next office computer.

This is not a choice we should have to make. What about the 12/18?

There are some that would find saving $800 the reason do go the hackintosh route. For others, including me, I would buy the Air and spend the money for the same reason I would rather spend the extra money on a MacBook Pro over a lesser expensive Windows notebook. The form factor means something to some. I also believe that the Air is going to outlast and run better than a hacked net book. I have no proof of that other than my experience with the many Windows notebooks I've owned compared to the macs I've owned.

I'm sure it is slower. I haven't used an i3 or i5 so to me there is no difference. I mean, the Air if not supposed to be a replacement for a hardcore computer user. To me it's for someone that travels and needs the basic functions in a small light form factor or someone like my daughter to use itunes or stream sirius, use the nets, take to class, etc.

Future proof in what way? How long into the future? Again, if it surfs the net, sends emails, connects to wifi, does word processing, for most people that is probably enough for what this computer would be used for.
