  1. You are right, it is a fast and detailed. I was just using the description to demonstrate the difference in sound between the two. They are very different sounding amps. As I've said before, the P-1 is the amp I would love to own and may still one day.
  2. Al, congrats! I am jealous. Although, I am digging the HR Ultra Desktop.
  3. A pretty good description/comparison. I heard both at the MD meet where Dreadhead heard the P-1.
  4. Denny Zeitlin Trio - Live in Concert
  5. It sounds more like grunting to me.
  6. No new gear. Bought a Sleek SA6 last week and an HR Ultra Desktop yesterday.
  7. Went a little crazy today, actually this weekend. I just picked up a Audio Horizons TP 8.0 MM phono stage for $300 shipped and pp'd ($745 retail) and a Soundsmith SMMC1 cart for $450 ($750 retail). I want to see if the combo will compete or better my ASR Mini Basis and Zyx Yatra. Jp has filled my head with good stuff about the Soundsmith cart. I auditioned the MC Audio Horizon phono pre and it was the only phono pre I've had that was as quiet as the ASR.
  8. Sleek SA6 from HighLife and the wireless adapter from Sleek. I don't typically listen to music when I run but I'm curious how the wireless will work when running.
  9. Ken, I hope the injuries aren't serious. I hope you are able to get home without too much trouble and pain.
  10. I think at that price, despite having a DAC, I would call Todd and buy a Luxman P-1 You have first dibs. I will have the demo P-1 at some point and can compare all three, hopefully with the HD800.
  11. Ivan the Terrible should be declawed and have all his teeth removed. Otherwise, everything you said is true.
  12. I decided not go with a P-1 just yet so this gives me the option of using the HD800 with this or the beta.
  13. Just bought this for below asking price. The retail according to HR's website was $1878. FS: HeadRoom Ultra Desktop MINT - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio
  14. I definitely will not miss your cat. My dogs on the other hand would love spend a few minutes with your cat.

    Any Deadheads on HC?

Jack, thanks for that resource. JimP, I have about 5 or 6 DP's on my usb drive and enjoy them all. It's not connected now so not sure which ones I have. I usually just look at the sets and pick the ones that I think I will like. When it comes to The Dead, I'm not that critical. I never went to a show I didn't enjoy (about 30 or so in total).
  16. David, very nice. Look forward to hearing what you think.
  17. Happy Birthday Jeff!
  18. No, it's in SoFla for certain.
  19. That would be very cool and might get her to pay attention to the thread.
  20. Dusty, we will miss you. This meet is a go. Jp will be joining us. I wonder if there is any chance Vicki will read this thread.
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. Thom Mackris sent me an arc protractor. He claims it's a must have for table set up. I wonder if Oz, got it out of his mailbox so he can check the alignment on my table.
  23. No problem. I'm lucky if I can get in on the Friday before CJ '09. No chance of getting in any earlier as much as I would love to.
  24. I don't know when or if Al was going to do a mini MOA. If I want to have any chance of attending CJ '09 I will not make MOA, if it takes place. I am expecting locals for this when due to CJ '09, although Jp hinted that he may come down (I guess assuming no MOA).
  25. I'm thinking of having a meet the weekend of March 7, 2009. Location is not determined but likely will be at one of the hotels in the Plantation area. This isn't definite. I will decide whether to go with it after I see how much interest there is. I do not anticipate any vendors in attendance with CJ '09 two or so months later and that it will likely be a small meet.
