What did you do today?
I'm afraid nothing quite that refined. Here is the maker of the 2lb brick of sharp cheddar that we get every year. The cheese may not be top notch, but the gesture is appreciated. My employers are throwbacks to a different day and time. They expect a great deal but pay well, offer lots of time off, bonuses, raises, incentives, monthly agency wide meals, fall weekend trip for all employees and their significant other, winter outing to an event and a summer family get together and every so often a trip to . My last trip was to Banff. This is my last stop before retirement unless I'm invited to leave.

The 2000 vintage of this ice wine exploded with flavor. I usually don't like sweet drinks, and a little ice wine goes a long way, but I savored each sip. Delicious on so many levels.

I'm certainly no expert, but a good ice wine delivers a surreal experience, and I haven't had one in awhile. Seems like a good idea to pick one up for our Christmas day family gathering.

What did you do today?
Just returned home from our annual office Christmas pot luck. Good food and I'm stuffed. Mike, your chili rocks! Tried your recipe and my coworkers loved it. Typical small business. Their annual Christmas tradition is to give a brick of Wisconsin Cheddar cheese to each employee. The lore escapes me but it goes back to a tradition started by the original founders of the agency.

Reminded me of last night's episode of human target where Guerrero grabs a stapler and staples the forehead of an executive to get him to shut up and listen. Nothing like removing your own stitches or staples. Itching is normal.

I've Become a Computer Audio Wacko!
Although I also use Amarra, in all fairness, I'm really not sure that it's better than itunes. Trying to level out the volume there wasn't much difference in the sound to my old ears. However, Amarra Mini plays 96/24 with out adjusting midi settings and I like some of the EQ settings. At the end of the day I like listening with the software in place.

I never counted. Hard enough to get Patch to stay still while I pulled them Started with the mouth and the inside of his throat (he tried to bite the porkie and then swallow) since that is where most of the bleeding was from. Then his nose. Then the ears. Then where ever I could get them out. Took well over an hour. Went back to the truck and then finished the job. Amazing how many quills I didn't see. Even at home I managed to find a few more. He was a hard headed dog. Never barked, even when hurt. Out hunting one day and I heard him yip. Couldn't find him so I called. He came trotting back with blood coming out of his mouth. The blood didn't stop so I reached in and pulled out chunks of flesh. Got some cold water in the mouth to stop it bleeding and carried him out 2+ miles to the truck. Closest vet was 1 1/2 hours away. Got him to the vet and by then he had almost bled out. His recovery took several weeks. He survived with the right side of his face paralyzed and some brain damage. He somehow managed to put three holes in his throat (never found out how). I retired him from hunting permanently at that point.

That pic is pretty close to how he looked the third time. I don't have pics - out in the middle of the forest bird hunting w/no phones, cameras, etc.

My current dog, Quest, doesn't discriminate. This year in my backyard he's talied 3 Mourning Doves, 2 robins, 1 Sparrow, 1 Finch, 2 red squirrels and 2 grey squirrels. How he ever caught the red squirrels is beyond me considering how fast the little buggers are. The English Setter, Patch, I had a few years ago tangled with porcupines three times. Each time worse than the previous. The last time I was literally pulling quills out of his throat and from inside his nose. He was one of those dumb dogs that got madder each time he bit a porky.

Just saw the weather forecast and apparently you're picking up more snow. You might want to pick up a copy of Traverse magazine which does a nice job of letting you know what is going on in the Traverse City area. Traverse City is one of my favorite places in Northern Michigan. Enjoy!

HiFiMAN HE-6
Al, that's fine. Nothing wrong with an HE-6 thread here. ASR's point is also valid. We sure don't need duplicate posts over here. Unlike there, we're all capable of reading should we so choose.
