I'm sure all of that is true, Nate, and 4K will likely be the next TV that I buy, but for now I'm glad I don't have to replace the plasma.

It's a bit late, but I just learned that jazz pianist Geri Allen died at the end of June at age 60, and that makes me sad. She was fantastic and should have played for decades longer. That plasma TV is in SF, so it would not qualify for M4KHO membership. And having been burned in the past, I ain't buying a TV with no content and an uncertain path to getting any.

Strangest thing. After spending thirty minutes screwing around and resetting to factory settings and then posting, the screen clicked and is back to a beautiful picture. Wishes do come true.

Is my beloved but also very aged Pioneer plasma dead? Vertical lines and extra green tint appear on all inputs. I checked and unplugged / replugged all connections. Here is what it looks like:

That spelling is what attracted him in the first place! Playback Designs says it is a combination of Swiss - German engineering and American entrepreneurship so how can you go wrong? I still really like my Playback Designs DAC -- especially for DSD but also for PCM -- and they have a fancy new line that is not out yet as far as I can tell.
