Mini Maggies

I've been meaning to check those out for a while. I think a dealer in Nebraska has some to demo, plus I'm running low on corn....

IDK, that monitor doesn't seem to have a very clear picture.

First planar desktop speakers in a while since Monsoons were all the rage. I like the idea of the set, but I won't be sold until I get a chance to hear them. The "bass panel" (*cough* subwoofer) leaves me curious but skeptical. Planar speakers don't necessarily retain good bass with downscaling...

Also, their website notes that Steve Guttenberg said it's the best desktop speaker money can buy. Which means it undoubtedly isn't.

Looks like a 2.1 system for a desktop.

From what I've read on AA they are supposed to be a monitor setup, so listening nearfield, but not as close as desktop listening. But these are all impressions from a while ago.

I have a set of these waiting in their box along with another unopened box with a Focal Bird 2.1 system. (The focal are for the girlfriend grin.gif )

By now you know one of the best known fact of life ''when you have money you usually dont have time...''

Meanwhile I'm a bit on the fence on the necessity to build another powerfull system for the Maggies.
