I really have no idea the point of posting that. But now you can check out my cool sig even more.

I think you need japk to take a look at your funny bone, because its just an underdeveloped as your brain.

The FIRST thing I did was compile the wireless drivers, and patch the kernel, but you apparantly knew that already.

Ok, so my laptop died a couple of days ago so I need a decent laptop with long battery life ASAP. I dont play games much but I need a decent processor for programming and it needs to be CHEAP (Under $700?)

Is dell the only choice? and no I dont want to get an apple right now

Hmm, what is your opinion of a long battery life? 5 hours? I personally don't know of any cheap laptops with exceptional stock battery life. I would however suggest getting a spare or larger capacity battery. That may free up some more options for you.

Find a refurbished T40 and get an 8 cell battery.

You get my Best Tip of the Day award. :)

I'd say X series instead.

Light-weight awesomeness? ;)

It's just more optimized for battery life.

Ah, I see. That is great.

I was already looking at the refurbed levonos, but all the decent T series got sold and I think the small screen of the X series is gonna frustrate me. :(

Hows the R61 series for levonos?

I'm :doghuh: and :kitty: about those laptops. (Yes, I got a reason to use those smileys)

i went to circuit city, and they had a nice thinkpad R61i for like 30% off, around 700 with rebates. I needed the computer quickly so I just got this one.

but vista is a piece of shit, slows down everything. Gotta go reformat to XP asap! (yes, I know linux is better)

(yes, I know linux is better)

Better how?

There isn't a but and dry, this OS i s better than another. It's all about what works FOR YOU.

i just said it so people dont go ZOMG WHY DONT YOU USE LINUX?!?!?! LINUX ROX MY SOX!!!1oneone

but I like linux since it uses less system resources (well the way I configure it does)

It's better.

I said it.

ugh, the battery life of this laptop sucks so much. I guess I'll have to upgrade to a 9 cell battery soon. :(:kitty:
