October 2, 200817 yr I know APL's slow speed and poor communication aren't new, but I stumbled across some more interesting posts here. Someone finally called him out in public, and it gets even better toward the bottom of the page. Just another headsup to anyone, like me, who is considering something APL. I still really hope the mythical APL DAC pans out...
October 2, 200817 yr Very interesting. I feel sorry for that guy smilin at the top of page 15. What Brent did to him was shady to say the least.
October 2, 200817 yr Is it really surprising the "high end" market is so full of bullshit artists, given how much of it is based on pure bullshit?
October 2, 200817 yr I'm sorry to say but APL are on the same level as SP and that is definitely not a good place to be. I still haven't heard back from them about my player acting up in late March but I just fixed it myself so I don't care but I will never contact them again about anything.
October 2, 200817 yr I have never done business with APL, nor am I likely to. I will say that is one of the worst audio company websites I've visted.
October 2, 200817 yr I'd say it's worse as there's atleast some idea where you could find Mikhail/SP if you needed to, coupled with the fact that APL players are in general a fair bit more pricey. I've attempted to contact Brent and Alex in the past and I've never gotten a reply.
October 2, 200817 yr Author The latest post from askat1988 wasn't there when I posted this thread, and adds more fuel to the fire.
October 2, 200817 yr Yeah, that was me who called him out. I either have some seriously bad karma for choosing idiotic companies or I am an idiot. I am leaning towards the second one. At least I have solved the glare in my NWO by sending it an upsampled (176.4) from my PC-RME 9632. Sounds great now and no fatigue, but the player on its own should not have the glare issues.
