April 15, 200917 yr I have a bunch of baseball cards that could have some value. Does anyone here have experience selling cards? Is there a good site that gives ballpark values to cards? Basically, help me sell these things so I can buy MOAR GEAR! Thanks.
April 15, 200917 yr I used to collect basketball cards when I was ~10-13. Then eBay came around, and for the first time we had real supply and demand for cards, and we found out they actually have very little value unless you have some cards that go for >4 figures. What happened next was in order for a card to have any value, you had to send it off to some grading company where they inspect it with a microscope and give it a grade. Because only a few % of the cards make the top grades, this helped restore the value of cards by lowering the supply. So in summary, your cards are probably worthless.
April 15, 200917 yr Author So after looking through, I have a couple of cards that would seem to be ok at first blush. I have a Cal Ripken rookie and a Rickey Henderson rookie in what appear to be pretty good condition. But I guess these need to be graded in order to really be able to ascertain their value?
April 15, 200917 yr see here: PSA Sports Card Grading Standards Most of the cards on ebay selling for anything will be graded PSA 9 or PSA 10.

April 15, 200917 yr The trick is any cards since the late 80s have been made in huge numbers, and almost all of them were collected. So they're not really very rare at all.
April 15, 200917 yr Author Most of mine are from 1977-1983. Looks like I'll have to look elsewhere for the college fund.
