June 10, 200917 yr Unlikely to be good news for users. Also quite closely coincident to the latest blow-up over them (or CBS, without their knowledge) allegedly giving user data to the RIAA.
June 10, 200917 yr Also quite closely coincident to the latest blow-up over them (or CBS, without their knowledge) allegedly giving user data to the RIAA. Yeah I believe they've officially denied doing that several times.
June 10, 200917 yr All signs seems to be CBS, but can't imagine this is a good sign. After two years ... we feel the time is right to begin the process of handing over the reins... we are going to miss you! Doesn't exactly seem like a 'begin.'
June 10, 200917 yr I suppose it would be proper for them to advise users that thier listening habits are being watched and forwarded to whomever, but I (and I imagine most others also) wouldn't mind, and gladly tick the check box to listen to what has become my favorite online listening site. I have compiled a long list of music additions using last.fm. I could definitely live without the recent video thing. Even though it has the button down on the right to turn off the animations, it would be nicer to be able to turn it off completely, or revert to the original player.
June 10, 200917 yr They're probably going to make it a more commercial venture. Features via subscription etc.. The pages will probably end up facebook-ish. Probably time to quit like I did facebook.
June 11, 200917 yr I hope it won't go to complete shit. But it probably will. Oh well, as nothing good lasts forever. Ka-blammo!
June 11, 200917 yr It's a shame libre.fm hasn't really got off the ground yet. Edit: Although it seems further along than last time I looked. Hmmmmm.
June 14, 200917 yr Given what's happening/happened to eMusic, this is not at all good. -Carl The eMusic dustup is probably worth a thread. I'll go see if I can find a link...
