The Best Jazz Albums of 2009

Featured Replies

Heh, I never knew about the Masada scale thing. I'd heard a couple of Zorn's albums and couldn't figure out where he was coming from, but that's pretty cool. Also didn't know about a new Jarrett improv, must find that now.

....and now for something different.

Sorry Dany, I missed my opportunity to send you this.

good stuff

yeah I've been trying to decide which Ella album to get (she has quite a few)

good to know about the other albums as well of course

and at the bottom of the page are the top albums of the decade as well

Sorry for the thread jack. Re: Jarrett, I feel the sonic qualities of the recordings makes up for the moaning and after a while I don't even notice. Kind of like a live recording with someone in the audience coughing.

It's a good list. I have been listening to the ones I don't know already and I need to pick up some of these.

I'm digging the Ran Blake album right now... very good.

Sorry Dany, I missed my opportunity to send you this.

What possibly made you think that I like old French hippies jazz/world music...:P

Amicalement

PS

Good call Greg since I have all their CDs....;)
