  1. I agree Mike. I bought 3 difference VNC apps and this is how I rank them: iTeleport > Desktop Connect >> iSSH (for VNC) The iSSH is very nice for SSH though and I am very happy with that part of the program. It is slightly easier to connect using Desktop Connect than iTeleport but once connected, iTeleport seems to work a little better. As for File Managing software, I decided to get GoodReader in addition to ReaddleDocs. My ranking: ReaddleDocs >>>> GoodReader I was able to easily upload a large directory of pdfs with ReaddleDocs via Wifi. I still haven't been able to upload more than a file at a time with GoodReader. I think one may be able to do this but I gave up and deleted GoodReader before I figured it out. I also didn't like the looks of GoodReader.
  2. Anyone know a good text editor for the ipad, like iaquamacs or something?
  3. Congrats!
  4. One of my friends had an iPad with the Apple case today. The case seemed pretty nice... a lot better than the fancy iPad pillow case that I am using right now. Unfortunately it seems that they are out of the Apple cases at the local store.
  5. Happy Birthday!

  7. I was having no problems at home. However, I was having some trouble with the signal in my office. I don't use wireless there very often so it could just be a weak signal. It seemed to be fine in the hall.

    Watch out Chicago!
  9. I saw GoodReader but decided to go with ReaddleDocs because it looked a little nicer. Since GR is only $0.99, I will probably buy it to see which I like better.
  10. I was searching for a way to transfer pdfs from my computer to the ipad (or download from a browser) for offline use. Went through downloader and icab browser - both of which I was not too impressed. Just bought ReaddleDocs for ipad (Readdle) and it is really nice. Highly recommended if you need a document/file manager.
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Damn.
  13. I have used iTeleport on the ipad to control my Mac Mini music server. Does that count?

  15. Why isn't there an ipad version* of Apple's remote app yet? Want now. *Not just a scaled up version of iphone app.
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. Now I do, thanks. You can set auto-lock to "never" but I don't know if this will keep the screen from dimming. I should check into this since it is annoying to have to turn the screen back on. Yes. No wifi issues here that I have noticed. By the way, does anyone know if the "old" dock connectors (the "bigger" ones - like the one I got my ipod classic 6G) can be used with the ipad. Is there a difference between size?
  18. Using the ipad as a recipe book is pretty handy. (I couldn't manage to get a decent picture of the screen unfortunately.)
  19. I think the size is good. I would have preferred it to be slightly lighter though. Making it lighter probably would have required a shorter battery life though.
  20. I'll check it out.
  21. Many times I found myself quite tempted to switch to AT&T to get an iphone but I held strong.
  22. I am using the 3G from my Palm Pre right now with the iPad (with mytether); it works great.
  23. iTeleport: Jaadu VNC for the ipad. Isn't quite as fast as screen share on the Macbook Pro but it gets the job done.
