Next time you want to preserve the lightness of light colored wood, try a soap finish. https://www.popularwoodworking.com/finishing/soap-making-clean-finish-2/ Also, the T&T danish oil won't end up sticky even without buffing. But it would have to be the base coat. With the original finish you really need to rub off as much as possible and then let it cure in a warm environment for a while. They say 24 hours but I'd give it a week or two.

I suspect that the people who complain are expecting something that works more like a poly and who don't want to put in the necessary elbow grease The danish oil is a lot thinner and easier to apply

Two of the options in one.

The bench looks truly fantastic.

More is better. I have a crappy bench that is covered in them, and it is still not enough.

Contax 645 was the camera I dreamed about. But the pair of Mamiya Super 23s next to it are super underappreciated gems. It's a whole 120/220 rangefinder system with multiple backs (6x45, 6x6, 6x7, 6x9, polaroid), and sharp lenses, but more importantly it has bellows and a ground glass back so tilts and shifts and swings and macro work are all possible. -

I don't particularly like the look of the jatoba with the walnut. So I'd do a single type

I'm looking for some light duty parallel clamps. Probably about 24". Does anyone have a suggestion for something that you either particularly like or dislike? I'm looking at the bessey UK3.024 unless I can find a better and less expensive option.

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/mar/14/metallica-buy-vinyl-factory-thrash-metallers-format The kids are definitely not going to get sick of vinyl nostalgia, so this is clearly a great investment.

Threaded inserts are held in place by their own threads, so if your concern is that threads in wood aren't strong, the insert doesn't add any advantage. It probably makes it worse. I've found threads in wood to hold up very well. Infinity tools sells taps specifically for wood. Not sure they are any better or different than regular taps, but they exist. https://www.infinitytools.com/wood-taps

From a couple of weeks ago - breakfast for some distinguished guests who were staying with us. Out of season plums and frozen peaches are both delicious when baked.

I did a similar project with Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 13, II. Allegro molto e vivace. which is a lot easier as it's only 2 minutes long. And weird as I am not really much of a classical listener. But that little bit of music is one of my favorite things to hear. My takeaway was that Glenn Gould is someone I like a lot.

I like the Go-Gos with all edges. If a better rock song exists, I've not heard it. -
