yeah me too anyhow I noticed how a basic TT system sounds much better then my Shanling s100 mkII , and somewhat better then the Wadia 301 too . Yes . I might very well take the TT road too .

I would suggest to you as well as to anyone who's new into this hobby to search info and find a vintage amp or receiver ( 200/300$ maximum ) instead of spending a fortune on the new top of the pop amp . I'm still using my 2 vintage , with hp2 ps-1 and other headphones , and they keep up absolutely well when I buy new amps and compare . The only compartment I found they're generally behind - but very marginally to little and never far behind - is detail.. so if one is a detail freak it's maybe better he also looks somewhere else and into a more recent product Marantz and Philips are two of the best brand for vintage amp and receiver that may incorporate a very good sounding headphone amp .

I definitely , really , cannot get on why do you insult or do you fell so justified insulting someone else for taking some distance or provacate someone . I hope you are aware of the fact that this forum descend directly from head-fi .And is a speak-free forum that's very similar to head-fi apart from the fact that's relatively new , speak free , less rigidly moderated , kind of intimate .. fullstop .. it is an altarnative and I see its means , but this doesn't make the sense for any insults , behavior which I'd really like to see dismissed when not ironic . Many do not seem to understand that even if copyright does not exist on www forums matters or aims , head-case is possible and real because before there was head-fi ..

mm just my humble 2c .. only problem , apart from the fuss that could orginate here , is that from a technical point of view private messages are private to remain private only , and undisclosed to others then the sender and the receiver; it's illegal -and against privacy law , that's quite world wide shared law nowadays- that a third part person open them and read them without permission from the original writer ; speaking legitly and from a legal point of view , a site owner ( or moderator ) doesn't own the privilege to read other member pms and doesn't have a right for opening or reading what's written inside

The question is how much overprice can reach a gear that has a name-brand stamped on , a nice chassis , and sounds decently good . team chinese gears ( still not have ordered my 2.0 , I'm waiting for the full release )

For the time it's been here , I've found the Hornet a very colored amp , with a slow and warm , rollof and upfront soundsignature (tubey?) tried hard but didn't like it at all

odd enough , my ears prefer the nice more sparkly sound of my oldies pdcp , the panasonic ct-470 / ct-570 , both of them bit more unrefined then the i-mod but definitely more joy for this ears as they're more musical and viby for my taste.. it's incredible to think , how these two little pdcp are surviving through the years to my sound quest..

passing a while more with the imod , I must say that a transportable 60gb source with this sound quality is really nice thing to have , and I see that a standalone nomod mp3 player with this sound could very well sell for 500/600 I'm quite satisfied .
