  1. Hunt it down. Best recommendation I've found yet in the Twitterverse. Like Qawwali/Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Crazy devotional lyrics like [translated]... In Sauherad, Hjukse was the proudest farm Time drags on Proud Margjit was the daughter on that farm It is I who am weighed down with grief Proud Margit got ready to go to church Time... She then took the road through the mountains It is I...
  2. Yeah, plus probably stating the obvious, but it does seem Pete and Craig have always been about slightly different house sounds (while both being usually successful in their targets). Maybe exaggerating a bit, but backing up your impressions (well, assuming a relationship between transparent design and eventual clarity in output - caveat of tube choice as you mentioned), know at least one member who prefers the richness of LCD2s with BA, but Tylls above clean focus of HD800s coupled with the Peak. Craig seems pretty taken with the LCD2s (though after current designs). Anyone know which phones Pete listens to primarily? Curious.
  3. I didn't know about the Super 7 either. What happened to his Hybrid? Al, borrowing some tubes would be great. Thanks much. I had several 6SN7s just a few months back, but they went with the Singlepower because I was done with tubes. Hesitant to say much while in honeymoon stage, but even with stock Tung Sol the Peak + Volc seems a nice step above the Luxman P-1u or two board B22. Really curious how it will grow with a different tube. Probably should have kept the LCD2 around long enough to test (though I doubt my issues with reverb would have disappeared), but the HD800s are mating very well.
  4. Not sure. What year is it? If time travel doesn't work, I hope it's at least a poor mans Musicmask. There it's kinda working.

  7. Can relate.
  8. Haven't had mine long, but first impressions are very positive. Until I get more time (and tubes) to post additional comments, here's a new Playback/AV Guide review: http://tinyurl.com/peakvolc

  10. Love that disc. Will be next, but now...
  11. You guys getting in on Google's Music Beta? http://music.google.com/about/
  12. Well, after many delays I finally had a chance to do some semi-serious listening to the Peak & Volc tonight. That combos not too shabby with the HD800s. The Aleph faces no competition on the K1K front.
  13. I think this may work out very well. Haven't attached the back yet.
  14. I don't know Ms. Carter, but I don't think so. When I Google "samantha carter blindfold" I get...

  16. Yeah, I certainly have my reservations, but wanted this to be a cash-less transaction so coupled with rooms limitations greatly narrowed the field. We'll see. Will post impressions.
  17. A couple of these: A sale, a few Amazon gift cards, and a room where normal speaker placement/sweet spot creation is a problem made me give Acoustic Technologies Classics a try. We'll see what you can do with a single 3" driver. Seems kinda crazy, but hoping reviews can be slightly believed. I'm I a fool?
  18. x2 Cherry Skyy and soda water here. Trying to find new ways to enjoy the liquids without carbs. Lazy way to lose weight.
  19. Congrats man. Well done!

  23. Just be aware I and many others have given up on using the Touchs USB functionality. Fine for a few albums on a stick, but so many exceptions on full-on drive use, that it's pretty unusable. All four of my USB drives didn't work, album art can can problems, large libraries can cause problems, etc. In fact while there are lots of defenders (usually on what's reasonable to technically expect - funny, how Logitecs marketing department never got the memo), I've yet to see a single person, with a large FLAC or ALAC library, use the USB functionally primarily. That may be a big sign. Still in many ways a great device and if you're only planning on throwing a few albums on a stick you may be fine. Yeah, the iOS AirPlay allows the iPad to serve as remote and pitcher. Just need one of the AirPlay devices to receive.
