Fingers crossed... Steve Jobs: 'Software update coming soon' for iOS 4 on iPhone 3G

There's plenty of arguments for a variety of shows (Mary Tyler Moore, The Simpsons, Twilight Zone, M*A*S*H, etc.), but David Chase's The Sopranos was the first show I thought beat David Simon's Homicide for my top spot. Not sure yet (Sopranos at its best is a pretty high mark), but Simon's The Wire may end up beating The Sopranos. C'mon Chase. Step up. Your turn. Have looked up a few 'Treme reviews and everyone seems to think it's a significant step down for Simon. Don't have HBO so haven't seen. What do you guys think?

Is The Shield a poppy drop from The Wire? Have only seen a few episodes but it seemed like every character was constipated. Sick of waiting on Wire DVDs. Found the box set on half.com for $50. Now midway through second season which seems even better than the first. Al if you want to borrow the discs when I'm done let me know and I can drop off. The Sopranos v. Well, I've had them for a while, but a slight fit discrepancy (looser on left though I never had a seal issue), and a very slight channel imbalance (tiny bit right, but it took a lot of albums to notice and then verify) had me send my JH13s back for modification today. Debated for a couple weeks because the problems are so minor I worry about overcompensating, but at this price and once you notice... BTW, how long have the mods been taking lately?

Trying to get three sources (one optical only, two either opt or coax) into 1-2 opt/coax jacks (one of each). Been looking for TOSLINK switcher options including some cheapies like this, but then came across this. Admit having the coaxial option would be a plus too. Besides Googling, pretty unaware of the options. Don't care about the bling, just want 1s and 0s passed. And if the switcher would affect support (can't imagine it would if passive, but if active?), 88.2/96 is desired. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Anyone had good luck with anything? On a related note, that optical only source, a MacBook, may be used with a JHAudio 3a coming, so if I want to go 24-bit with it, a USB or TOSLINK-coax converter is probably in the cards. If that affects the switcher suggestions at all please consider. If there's a converter/switcher so much the better, but trying to keep the price down. And eventually a new DAC is a likelihood, but doubt it will have enough inputs.

Would like to use the other optical input on my Parasounds, so wondering if anyone has ever seen a ST optical to TOSLINK adapter? Searches are coming up empty, so not hopeful.
