Record Store Day 2011
Alright, thanks guys. Wasn't sure how many of the regular ones there would be, now I'm kinda bummed I didn't get the colored box. Glad you guys did, though. I hit four shops today, though, with three of them I've never been to before. Met some probably good people, so I'll head back at some point. There is shop I found, and independent CD store, who said he had first shot at RSD releases, but he passed on most everything... he just started carrying vinyl, and it seems to be kinda big with people the past few weeks, so I think he's going to expand. He is going to put in an order for the FLips box, Foo Fighters cover album, Gorillaz (I think), and a Nirvana EP reissue "Hormoaning". I'm pissed I didn't pick up the last copy of Green Day's "39/Smooth". I was too focused on hitting the only other shop supposedly participating (turns out they were on the big site, but in-store had NO idea of the "event".) I did wind up picking up SOME stuff while there, though. Criterion Collection LaserDiscs: Akira Spinal Tap Samurai I Samurai II Samurai III Now I'm going to need to get a LaserDisc player (or, you know, sell these). **BRENT** Edit: @JP, did you want a regular FLips box set too? The guy is pretty sure he can get them, and even asked if I wanted multiples (some other stores were only selling one of each item, it seems).

Record Store Day 2011
Hey DP, you DO know that the colored ones are only 120 gram, and the in-store is 140 gram, so you have to get both, right? (I'm trying to see if one of the two local shops here will have it in-store). **BRENT**

Vibram FiveFingers are great. Fitz has horrible fashion sense and is quite possibly a monkey... but not in a good way. I'm seriously tempted to pick up this pair as my 3rd... **BRENT**

AT&T to buy T-Mobile USA
Contracts are stupid. I don't touch them. Just deal with outright prices.

AT&T to buy T-Mobile USA
TMO employee plan. 500$ device credit per year. Just rolled over (waiting on G2x). Post merger, as long as that deal sticks around, 129$ 16GB iPad 4G. **BRENT**

AT&T to buy T-Mobile USA
This makes me sad... rather sad. On the bright side, I should be able to get an almost-free iPad2 w/3G soon. http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/20/atandt-agrees-to-buy-t-mobile-from-deutsche-telekom/ **BRENT**

Post the last thing you bought!
I must have a shitty bottle of Eagle Rare, as most of you guys like it a good bit. The bottle I have, it seems sub-par in the price range (32$ around here). **BRENT**

JH Audio stuffs
From FB: Here is where we are on the 3A – from Jerry. 1. We are in the process of changing the spidf to coax. This is a bigger project than we had originally anticipated and is requiring a board revision. We are doing quick turn boards to test the spidf currently. 2. The MCU issue has been addressed and on Monday I will be in the lab with the amp at the ear simulator to verify the change. After the board approval, and once the connectors arrive to the manufacturer, it will take about a week until the units ship to us. We will keep you updated on the status as we have more information. Best regards, Everyone at JHA

Google Chrome CR-48
Was someone talking about having an IDE on ChromeOS? Well, check this out (just came out about a week ago from Beta). https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/nbdmccoknlfggadpfkmcpnamfnbkmkcp http://cloud9ide.com/ Click the first link in Chrome and it'll take you to the web app. @Nate - I'm still waiting on approval to crap in the Apple thread... it takes FOREVER to get through the process. **BRENT**

Did you kids see this? http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/05/atandt-to-allow-grandfathered-unlimited-ipad-data-plans-on-ipad-2/ AT&T allowing grandfathered unlimited iPad data plans on the iPad 2. I figure you all know that, but... **BRENT**

@Dan 501$ shipped, LMK. re: VZW/ATT 3G, I'm really wondering if it's just one SKU, and they're using a GOBI. I figure that's what they're HAVING to do, otherwise, it makes little sense. Now... What I'd LOVE to see is you pay Apple the 30$/mo, or whatever, and you get to use ATT or VZW, whichever you want/whichever is better at the time (auto-sensing, or selectable). That would be interesting. **BRENT**

Atlanta Area Head-Casers needed for Apoxna 2011
UPDATE: I've gotten word that the producer of AXPONA, Steve Davis, has set aside a large exhibit area in one of the ballrooms at AXPONA for headphone enthusiasts to set up systems to display our hobby. This area will be free to us. Please contact Steve at 1-877-246-3892 or [email protected]. Is there anyone here interested? **BRENT**

@Tyll Try DoubleTwist or WinAmp for media. Try to keep an eye out for the PlayOn app for Netflix and Hulu. I don't think it's out yet, but Engadget had something on it recently. Each platform has its strengths and weaknesses, and you have very good examples of each. **BRENT**

Google Chrome CR-48
Nate is correct re: email. No one has gotten a confirmation afaik. Mine was just sitting in my doorway, no sig required. I noticed mine was a little slow today. I started Alt+tabbing and realized it had opened 2 (initially) mirrored windows with about twenty tabs each. I had been using over a gig of the 2 gigs of ram, and that seemed a bit high. When I checked the memory manager in Chrome (Shift+Tab, then "Stats for Nerds"), I noticed multiple instances of webpages. Just a glitch I need to report; you know, to earn my keep. Wound up running into an old geek friend of a friend yesterday in Best Buy. He kinda geeked out a bit at it. Loved the soft-touch coating, construction, size, weight. He asked if they were going into production. One more thing... Youtube works pretty well, but Hulu is choppy. Supposedly Flash 10.2 adds hardware acceleration for Linux, which really smoothes out the video there. Some people have it, others don't. I'm in the latter camp so far, but believe I can get into the Dev mode and accelerate that process. I love this thing. **BRENT**

Google Chrome CR-48
Today I got about 230 e-mails from [email protected]. If you also got these e-mails, and do NOT have a CR-48, you need to be watching your door for the next couple of days. If you get these, it is for people who applied and were accepted into the Pilot Program. It is a group that every user was signed up for, but was private until someone found it. It was set up wrong, and all of these e-mails went out around 3am this morning. I hope some of you got them. **BRENT**
