finding a nicer hotel for less should be a pretty easy task.

it is tough to make out in the photo, but i can kinda of see a slight warp in the mesh inside your red circle. minor product imperfections are a part of life as i've yet to receive an absolutely 100% flawless product. i suspect something like that is well within passable tolerances and no one, but a select few will notice those minor things unless someone points it out or they are looking to find minor flaws. just enjoy the HD800s as they are a fantastic and incredible sounding headphone and be content with the fact that this pair doesn't creak.

i could probably manage to find my way there.

i didn't hear them as i don't really have a dedicated portable rig, but do own the 530s, though, i didn't bring any music on my iphone. expensive custom IEMs scare me since you can't resell them or get them refitted if your ear canal slightly changes and you lose that perfect seal. and based on all my research they have a somewhat short lifespan. further, this segment of the market has been seeing fast and big strides of improvement nearly every year for the last few years... i really wish i heard them -- next time.

i had a bad caffeine headache, so i walked to starbucks in the rain with this silly purple umbrella, which smelled like perfume, and got a double espresso. the weather has been pretty trippy all day, raining off and on with a bit of thunder now and again, not at all typical socal weahter. on the way back it stopped raining and the sun peeped thru and a funny little thought occurred to me about six head-casers have been to my local starbucks.
