  1. Nikongod, what were you getting at with your question about the balanced/unbalanced operation of the A-10? Have there been issues with this in RSA amps before?
  2. krmathis's post is priceless.
  3. Happy Birthday, indeed.
  4. Yeah, he did some pruning. Can't blame him for that; I'd probably do the same.
  5. He should have done it. That would be a real differentiator and likely would really appeal to his fans. Although I guess it could be somewhat cannibalistic within his product line.
  6. If I follow Kevin's analysis correctly, the A10 could also pretty easily have a regular single-ended HP out, right?
  7. It's an older one (80 ohm, I think) that I gave to Nate a while back. Now it's coming back for a good cause.
  8. I dislike the bling aspect of the casework, but I otherwise think it's fine. I generally like Ray's casework. It's interesting to me that he did not voice the amp for the O2. The gold/champagne bits would match pretty well.
  9. and so it begins...
  10. Do you have the 007BL Doug?
  11. When did Stax discontinue the 007 mk1?
  12. A little pricey for this setup, but beautiful phones. It will be EC/SS--->DT770.
  13. Do not tempt the Monkey!
  14. Cool. I've been using a new Merkur Progress for about a month now. So much easier on my face than the Gillette SupremoExtraX with 10 blades.
  15. Hm, I don't know if he's ready to try them yet, but I think I just might be. How would they sound with a B22?
  16. Were those at the NYC meet in December?
  17. Nate, That would be great, but only if it's easy. Source is most likely an iPod. So I guess a mini-to-RCA. I'll get the LOD from this ALO I've been hearing so much about. No worries--I have an LOD.
  18. Yeah, I'm pretty happy about this potential setup (Nate's idea). And I was also concerned about the bass, but I think that's the fun part of the DT770. It gets tiresome for me after a while, but it will be miles better than whatever he's been using recently, if anything. And it seems like the bassiness might work with his hearing, which is good because I am not at all confident that he can work the iPod's EQ. My Dad the Basshead.
  19. A plan is coming together.... At first, I thought I would put a system together for him and he'd pay for it. But Nate's going to return my old DT770's to me, and, if all works out, I'll buy Crappy's ECSS. That way I can put the system together and buy it for the Old Man. I wish it could be more, but times is tough. At least it gets him started. I predict he'll buy a Zana by Christmas.
  20. Agree. Especially in a situation such as this where you will be able to make your money back (for the most part) on the FS boards.
  21. Wow, these are great ideas. Al, he was seriously loving the CD3000, which sound particularly good out of Woo amps.
  22. jin, I strongly considered those, but I think the earcups might be a bit small for him.
  23. deepak, the AT woodies are a good idea.
