  1. damn subjunctive.
  2. The glue idea is pretty good. I just wish the damn thing wasn't so small. That will also make finding a replacement more difficult.
  3. Thanks Doug. Gang, this screw is going to be tough to get out. It's one of the pair of very small screws that attaches the arc/headband assembly through the brown plastic of the assembly to the metal ear cups. They are phillips head and they are small. And now I've managed to strip one of the heads. Any thoughts about how to get it out? I am not too keen on the thought of drilling it out given its proximity to, well, everything.
  4. ok cool. Thanks!
  5. lol, wait, I can't tell. Is the straight part of the D in front of or behind your ear?
  6. ok, this thread is helpful re pad orientation.
  7. Thanks Doug. Got the pads on. Can you remind me what the "default" orientation is for the pads? In other words, the pad is shaped like a "D." In which direction is the "D" supposed to be facing by default? Also, is it ok that I can see some of the outline of the spring through the pad? Also, I wasn't clear, it's the head of the screw that I stripped, not the thread itself. I guess the putty idea still applies, right?
  8. These fucking 007 pads are going to drive me out of my goddamn mind. I can't get them on. Fuck. Someone give me a clue. I can get them over the spring, but it is impossible to get them to bite over the black inner ring (if that makes a bit of sense to anyone). Also, I stripped one of the fucking screws that holds in the headband so I can't get it out. Any suggestions about how to deal with THAT nightmare? Fuck.
  9. He should get a really enormous keyboard and mouse too. Supersize that shit.
  10. Well that's just annoying.
  11. But it does work as a replacement, correct?
  12. Which makes it annoying to have to replace the Signatures headband.
  13. Yeah, using Time Machine. OS X 10.5.6, all up-to-date. I'm going to exclude some stuff in Time Machine. I also knocked out some RSS feeds to stop Spotlight from getting bogged down with indexing. Repaired permissions. Will try some of the other suggestions too. Things are getting better. Thanks for the help all.
  14. That story makes me see red. The shovel is ready.
  15. I'm ok on disk space, but I think you could be right about the indexing anyway. That and the monkey pron.
  16. My Mac is slow as shit, and no I don't know what happened. It is very possible that the Little Monkey pressed some buttons. What can I do to run a checkup or some such shit--other thanDisk Utility--so that this thing gets back to normal?
  17. I've always liked "Christina's World."
  18. Happy birthday Dom!
  19. seems to be working fine for me.
  20. From the few things I've read, it seems that my suggestion might make a server cranky, so I think there are 2 possible directions: 1) Increase max posts per page for print view if possible; or 2) Find a way to export or dump the contents of threads into a text file, sort of like fungi's idea. Any thoughts?
  21. Speaking of pushups, I am thinking of doing this: one hundred push ups
  22. Where does one source mineral wool for this specific application? I see it for sale in board form, but not in, um, fluffy form.
  23. Apparently. I think they're discontinuing the silver ones. Some great deals out there now. And you can just smear it with dogshit.
