  1. Stupid ratfuck double-sided tape got screwed up on one side, so I need to buy moar double-sided tape. Hopefully with extreme bass. Exactly! I use it as my cell phone earpiece.
  2. I repadded 1 1/2 Lambdas.
  3. Of course it does! And today I will start thinking thin thoughts. Well done. Keep us posted. It's good to hear that you're doing well.
  4. I like it: welcome to head-case; everyone's a fucktard.
  5. And I don't even think those 770s are in one piece!
  6. Jesus H. Christ.
  7. So far I am not sticking to my diet and I am not exercising. Progress.
  8. You're in the mafia's doghouse. I still haven't had a chance to compare the MK1 to the MK2. I'm actually thinking about taking a day off from work to do it and to do some work on the rig. Also, I received new pads for the Mk1 and they seem very nice. I am not excited to go through the process of putting them on, though. I also have a new headband coming. Is that a difficult change to make? Also, a big gas face goes out to audiocubes 2 for charging extra for Lambda Pro pads over the newer SR series pads WHEN THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME MODEL REPLACEMENT PAD. I know because have them in front of me.
  9. I agree that the comparison to a top 'stat is important here. Senn decided to make their flagship a dynamic. One wonders if they'll make another 'stat. IIRC, at least some of the literature included reference to the Orpheus. A question I have is whether the Senn Masters, in a tacit acknowledgment that their stat line is dead, think they have managed to combine the best of both worlds. The transient response comments would seem to indicate that they are at least on to something. I am interested in the long-term impressions of the bass and the soundstage. If this soundstage is vastly expanded, but still blobby, then I'm not sure I would consider that a dramatic improvement. In short, it will be fascinating to see if what we have is just an agile Senn up top that had to make sacrifices down low, or if they really managed to nail it and made a nimble dynamic that can deliver the highs and mids in addition to some fine thump at the bottom. I am very much rooting for Sennheiser here. I trust these initial impressions, but they are not yet placed in the context of stats. I have to admit that if these sound as good or better than the O2, then I will be a bit torn. Regardless, the introduction of these phones is a good thing for the hobby. Senn has thrown down the gauntlet, which means that other manufacturers may follow suit (although maybe they just don't want to play there in these times). It is great to see the continued innovation and dedication shown here. Instead of some ridiculous nod to low-fi with a design that is designed to have "bass that will fracture yer skullz!" The price point is a bit of a concern. I don't think it is outrageous. In fact it seems to be pretty much on the money for a flahship, but I would hope that it is not an invitation to competitors to take a price increase. In other words, I hope it establishes a ceiling, not a floor.
  10. heh
  11. Were you expecting him to hate it?
  12. Maintained an uneasy peace with my 2 1/2 year old.
  13. Is it easy for, say, a wife to use for movies?
  14. Ok, thanks Dan. I'll see if I can jam that fucker in there. Otherwise, those netgear switches are pretty small. Poor reviews, but small.
  15. And I think that's the problem. Ideally the actiontec would be in the Leviton box in the closet. But the actiontec is big, and won't fit in the enclosure, so it lives off one of the jacks in the living room. Also the wireless won't work as well if the Actiontec is in the closet. That's why I was thinking the switch idea would possibly work. Do you think it would?
  16. That would mean putting the actiontec in the Leviton enclosure, though, right?
  17. I was stupidly thinking that the bottles pictured had come in the case shown. Ignore me. Long week...
  18. What games are you getting? I can't play any of these damn new-fangled shoot 'em ups. Too fucking much going on. I like the sports stuff though...
  19. Ok, so my apartment is theoretically wired with Cat 5e throughout. There is a Leviton enclosure in one of my closets. I currently use Verizon FIOS for my internet, phone, and TV. The Actiontec router that Verizon gave us sits outside the closet and is connected to one of the jacks in the apartment via coax. My mac is hardwired to one of the Actiontec's ethernet ports; the rest of the 'puters connect wirelessly. I want to light up some--if not all--of the ethernet ports throughout the house in case the wireless goes down. The problem is that none of the RJ45 jacks in the apartment are connected to the Actiontec router. I suspect that I need a switch (and a small one at that due to space constraints) to mount in the Leviton box. The HP switch is too big. But before I go off and get another switch I wanted to run my strategy by the gurus here. Here are some pics that hopefully explain this shit better. Basically, I want to understand better what's going on. Leviton Enclosure: Panels: Left Panel Closeup Patch Panel (Right) Closeup: FIOS crap: Jack Example: The jack nearest the TV is using the top coax to go to the Set Top Box. The phone is on the top ethernet jack, but I'm not sure if it is live throughout. The bottom ethernet jack I think carries the in-house intercom, but again I do not know if it is throughout.
  20. It should be fun. UPS is taking forever with the ECD-1. Estimated delivery on 1/12.
  21. Slacker, I think you did well, except that the title of the package should be "Exclusive NOT Belgian Ales" as none of those are Belgian. Regardless, I enjoyed many a Zywiec (though not the porter) when I visited Krakow some time ago. Good stuff as I recall. I've seen it at a couple of places in the city.
  22. Happy Birthday, Luis.
  23. Based on my recent experience, it now appears that if there is inclement weather ANYWHERE in North America, FedEx releases itself from any obligation to deliver packages on time. Of course, FedEx disclaims any liability arising from weather delays, and has a policy of not even offering a partial refund in such instances. Assfaceholeheads.
  24. Nah, I'm just an in-house cog. But I have been meaning to hire that lackey.
