Damn Vicki, that's a hell of a labor day weekend. I'm jealous. Went for another 15 mile ride around my area. There's just so many bike paths around here. I found a bike entrance to work which means commuting is in my future.

Hmmm. I am in the market for a new wallet and Saddleback is now high on my list. I have also heard kangaroo leather makes a good wallet. Has anyone owned/handled one?

The Marantz also has streaming over AirPlay or a home network which is one of the reasons their receivers are on my short list.

Thanks Vicki though your bike looks wayyyyyy better. On my ride, I found out my saddle was not properly tightened down when it shifted back and down on me suddenly. Had to ride a few more miles to find my savior, a bike police man who happened to have a toolkit in one of his pouches. Ohio is pretty awesome for cycling.

Picked up my bike today. Put in 15 miles. It was a little harsh for a guy who's hasn't ridden in a few years.

Bike store got in a disc trucker that was just my size today. It just felt right and I couldn't pass it up. But because of the unique way my employer funds me, I had to put a payment on it and wait for the rest of fund-age to make it's way to me. Put a pair of hybrid pedals with it since I plan to go clip-less eventually. I'm not sure what is worse, wanting it or partially owning it. In the meantime, I've decided a goal is to finish a century before I graduate from here. I have just about 18 months to accomplish this. If I finish earlier than I expected, I'll just have to increase the goal.

You'll probably be less happy to hear that the Air Force One and R&D Hangers have been closed due to furloughs.

My friend came over to my new place today by bike and I got super jealous. I found a place about 10 miles away that stocks Surly and Cannondale. I'll have to make a visit early next week.

Sorry for the delay, in the middle of moving. My usage will probably be longer rides on pavement but I would prefer a bit more ruggedness. Especially since bat smashing is another one of my goals. My friend has the crosscheck and loves the heck out of it but he's also riding the streets of Boston year round. So based on some more research, I'm open to suggestions. Budget is around $1200-1300.

I got my Feedbands album today and I don't really notice surface noise like Mikey mentioned. But I do get some distortion on the singer's "s" sounds. I have a feeling this has to do with my cartridge (I think it's older than I am) and I'll be playing around some to try and track this down. I'd hate it to be the album since I do enjoy it.

Work up at 4, passed a PT test at 5, went to work, essentially got ordered by my Lt Col to take 2 comp days for working the past two weekends, still worked a 10+ hour day, came home to a 6-day weekend and cold beer. I'd say it's a good day.
