I've been living with my 6800 Mogul for the past few days. So far I'm really liking it. I haven't used bluetooth, and won't until they fi the issues. Not a big deal. I'm slowly installing apps one at a time to make sure they don't cause problems, that way I can rule out the ones that cause problems. The 6800 is significantly thinner than the 6700. And not having the antenna nub is funny, since I sometimes pick it up upside down. The LCD screen is just gorgeous. It's so insanely bright, I keep it at 50% and it's still very bright. There is a firmware update that is supposed to be released at the end of this month. So we'll see. One thing that really sucks is the 6800 (and the Touch) doesn't have a standard 2.5mm headset jack. A dongle has to be used. Can't believe they couldn't fit one.

Major reason, I won't even entertain the notion of getting the Kindle. Well that and I already have a Pocket PC phone with unlimited internet access. Oh, and did I mention that I don't really read a lot of books?

Since I like to game on my big screen HDTV's, pretty much Plasma and DLP are my only choices. I chose DLP because it was a lot cheaper. I have been eyeing those new Pioneer Kuro plasmas. After my Samsung DLP dies, it will be replaced by one of those. Or maybe when the bulb burns out, I'll just use it as an excuse to buy a new TV. I've been thinking of getting a new car too when my tires go bad as well.

I'm really loving this game so far. two major critiques. 1. Typical Bioware, but the graphics are choppy as hell. It's stutter city when loading textures, with a lot of late pop in. Also, it gets quie slow in areas. It's really a shock to go from COD4 to Mass Effect. I realize they are trying to draw huge environments, but it's quite distracting. It would've been less of a shock going from Halo 3 to Mass Effect, but even Halo 3 was smooth at least, even though it wasn't 60fps like COD4 2. This is an Art and Design critique, but the variety of visual payoff in the different weapons and armor is majorly lame. It's the same damn weapons and armor, just different colors and textures, not to mention same sounds. It's a shame they didn't spend some time on more variety there. In the weapons and armor inventory when buying, they're all shown as suitcases. Lame. I'm being picky here, but even KOTOR had more variety. Perhaps there will be more customizations in the next episode of Mass Effect. Otherwise, a very compelling story, and I love the Master Blaster type play with the Mako and jumping out to fight inside a building. Simply awesome.

Looks like Amazon is making a mistake by trying to make a profit off of the hardware sales as well. My prediction, is that they will pull an "iPhone" and drop the price of their Kindle in less than 6 months when sales are crappy. In fact I'll bet they'll drop the price by the next quarter. And they won't offer a store credit like Apple did. Early adopt this fugly thing? No thanks.

Yeah, good deals, like charging same retail price as everyone else. And taking a few days to even start to ship a product, unless I spend $80/year to be treated like a "real" customer. Wow, that's great customer service.

So fucking what? Amazon oversold their preorders and didn't say so. Release date for shipping by the manufacturer was the 19th, Amazon isn't shipping until the 26th for me. Even with Prime, it would take more than 9 days to get here.

It shouldn't take 7 fucking days to actually ship (retailers have had the game for more than a week now, they were cleared to ship on the 19th), then factor in the shipping time. Fuck that. I shouldn't have to pay $80/year to have prompt shipping times.
