For you wine aficionados and especially Syrah drinkers-- Ojai Vineyards Is Da Bomb I really like Ojai Vineyards their quality is fantastic and their prices are very reasonable. The Santa Barbara Syrah is $24 per bottle if you buy six bottles and shipping is free. Once they arrive let them rest for two months or longer if you can stand the temptation, open then let the wine breath for 1-4 hours then have at it.

Dan, you are on a long Malbec kick. Nice! Brown Estates Brown Recluse. I didn't want to post a picture of the lable because the only one I could find was ginormous and I don't think anyone would appreciate a full monitor view of what I am quafing. Not bad BTW, a little hot on the alcohol but nice and chaulky with a long finish; should go great with takeout Italian. Colin, that meal looks awesome! Another Mendoza Malbec-er, you guys live quite well. So Ken, did you buy that Gypsy Boots? How was it?

Ahh, I saw this today at whole Foods but took a pass since I haven't seen anyone post about it. Timing is everything. Moar Merlot/Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc----not in that order though.

I bought some really nice cheese for this evening- pecorino, regiano romano and some cheese whose name I forgot with black trufffles in it. They all went really well with the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc but awesome with the La Jota Merlot. La Jota rocks! Also bought some beer I am not familiar with- Suplication and Consecration. I had to buy it since Whole Foods would only let me have one bottle each. Round trip airfare to Phoenix AZ, unfortuneately.

Dan, is that the Colonial Estate Emigre? A selection out of your usual buying pattern. I really like the few Austrailian Shiraz I have had but I don't recall sampling andy Aussie Shiraz blends and Shiraz with Mourverdre should be a real fruit bomb. You might try to source some Valdez Petite Syrah if any made it's way towards you. It is not a Syrah blend like the Emigre but the flavor profile should please you. Oh, I forgot why I was here in the first place. It finally hit 100 degress today so I am free to start drinking whites. This neat Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc blend is great hot summer wine, I just wish I had some Thai food or lobster roll to go with this. Calling Jacob....can you catch the nearest G-6 and pop on over and show me how to make a lobster roll?
