So that's how they make ambient music. Now I get it. -
Took Mary and Lance to the airport at 3 am for their flight to Columbus OH. This will be Lance's last Junior Olympics. It has been a good ride all these years but the next phase of his life is about to begin. 🤨 A season of "last's" tournament wise. Hopefully this one will bring great memories and a whole lot of fun as national points and standings do not matter at this point. Glad I have a place here to unload because fencing is stressful...for the parents. Hah!

Who says fencing is a nerdy boring sport? Alex in this video is the Czech Republic Olympic fencer who trained at our club in December and will return to train for the world cup in Anaheim this march. Alex practices with Lance and kicks his ass regularly. Despite the Youtube persona Alex is one of the nicest, respectful engaging people you could meet. He speaks four languages and his side hustle of music is helping fund his training for the Olympics. I had a great conversation with him at our house discussing his plans for life after the Olympics. When he comes out in March I hope he brings his entourage... Fencing Can Be Cool...really BTW, the women in the video really are internationally ranked fencers No not really. -
Happy Birthday Jeff.

RIP Kobe. The reports say that he was on his way to Mamba Academy which is in town and where we organized a international fencing camp and a few competitions. Sadder when the tragedy strikes so close.

Well as long as you stay out of the way of the speeding Range Rovers and Teslas you are good.

Where we live we have owls, coyotes, bobcats, hawks, snakes, tarantulas and hipsters. A bad place for all living things.

So you are saying the cable, HDMI etc. is the weak link for great picture quality? Sorry but what are the preferred alternatives?

I think we should make that the background music for our office reception area instead of the crappy CNN feed. -
Happy Birthday!

Took Mary and Lance to LAX this morning at 3:45. Though getting up at 2 in the morning is tough it is well worth it to be able to drive the freeways with no traffic. The 45 minute commute this morning can take as much as two hours if you are unlucky enough to be going to LAX in the late morning or afternoon. Fingers crossed for a good experience in Charlotte this weekend.

For clarification /\ /\ /\ , the hillside in the foreground and the hillside to the right not pictured had flames peaking over the top back in October 2018. White stuff is always more welcome than the red stuff.

Please refer to October 2019 and October 2018.

If you do pass from food poisoning, can I have your Molly Dooker wines?

A rare sight for southern California and an even rarer sigh from my back yard. I feel like I have been transported to Denver or something.

Depending on the taste you may try using the beef in a Thai or Cambodian style stew with rice noodles, cilantro, and ginger.

Last night with guests from Italy and the Czech Republic. I wanted to introduce them to a Southern California Christmas minus the guacamole. Batch of medium prime ribs, batch of rare prime ribs. Twenty four hour brined turkey.
