Beefy, morphsci and Amicalement, thanks a lot guys. Overall, I did pretty well. I think my adviser and the adjunct professor were both impressed. I didnt know that you guys (-Beefy, who is a cool secret bio science person iirc) were professors! I had to say that a few times during the presentation. My professor demands that something new and novel be done for any thesis. I'm a biomedical engineering student so applying things to real life is basically the main focus of what I do. Time to go beg molecular biologists for some data sets that I can work with now!

Yea, it rips the paper. but that might not be a problem for you. I put a lot of pressure on my pencils/pens.

For me, the weight of the pencil/pen helps me write better. If 0.5 comes out too thick, you might like something like Uni-ball Kuru Toga Auto Lead Rotation Mechanical Pencil - 0.3 mm - Black Body It rotates the lead so you get a consistent thickness. You should try 0.3 lead. I've tried using it for notes but whenever I start writing quickly, it always gets caught on the paper.
