Your first round of assholedom came with a few beers. I have no idea what inspired the second, but three strikes and you're out as far as I'm concerned.

After reading this thread so far, a couple of you guys (recstar and smeggy) are scaring me just slightly more than a little. The only time I really liked the HP2s were with Frank Cooter's set up at MOA, and with Johnny Number's HD2, even though I've always appreciated them. I've really liked the L3000 every time I've heard them, even when I was in a bratty, pouty mood at a mini-meet. After announcing to everyone that all their new gear sucked and meaning it (Transporter, Woo5, GS1000s, D5000s), I sat curled up on a sofa and listened to a baseball game and bad Creole music on a Clix2 radio, unamped, and was perfectly happy. Yep, they're that good. Oh, I've never heard them with the Zana.

Yes, but that would most likely involve large amounts of beer. Has anyone done a study on the effects of different brews and how it affects hearing? You could even apply for a government grant, I'm sure.

It looks like Sennheiser isn't much interested in going that direction.

I've heard the 600s with Thrice's CKKIII. Very nice. Balanced might even be nicer.

I'm not familiar with the MS-2is, but I think you can do better than the 501s or 601s, though they're quite okay.

Maybe the bike guy found head-fi? He was pissed enough to post an entry in an online dictionary. Maybe he's still pissed enough to google him and found him on head-fi and also here since OICDNFAN registered a few hours ago. Long shot, but not improbable.

Just bought two cases of cat food from Pet Smart for the glutton cat.

It seems logical that you'd want to at least start out with learning to solder and trying maybe a cmoy for practice before spending money on parts only to muck them up.

I noticed a little while ago that a OICDNFAN had registered here, but no posts. Strange, indeed. Out of curiosity, what kind of post was it on head-fi, in what section/thread? Seems weird unless he's pissed someone off again who isn't just coming out with it.

Weren't markl's headphones recabled as well? What about Ari's? What diff cable + mods vs. mods with stock cable?

I'll admit I'm curious as well. Maybe Ari will bring his to CanJam. If it ends up being good, good; if not, oh well. I liked the D5000s, but just didn't think they were as special as folks were claiming, and certainly not worth their pricetag when compared to other headphones. I'd like to hear improvements, but the difficulty I'm having is the R10 claim. If it were just about cleaning up the flaws (mostly thinking about the loose bass) and improving an already good headphone, that's quite interesting to me, but the better than R10s bit just seems to be pushing claims too far and setting up what might be wonderful mods for a full knock-down bashing.

Hah! That is a horrible song. I just added to your list in another thread. Steve, there were probably as many bad popular songs in other decades, but, in my case I was old enough by the late 70s and 80s to get out of the house and avoid them. Through most of the 70s, I was stuck in a house of 24/7 AM radio.

I picked this decade, only because there's more music from every decade available to me.
