Thinking of going electro
The upgraded caps are better and will let more detail through but I'd rather just go for the KGSS since there are no caps in the first place. Soft Jazz doesn't put any strain on a system so it will not show off a good system or embarrass a mediocre one. That's why it's used so much by dealers and manufacturers. Same deal with cartoons on crappy flat panel TV's.

The ultimate DIY? A Stax SRM-T2!
Me not being clear as usual. What I meant to say was a cluster of holes with T2 squared inside that cluster, made with smaller or larger sized holes. Well I can tell you what those machines do to cakes, the most perfect cut one can imagine with almost no water residue. Either way works for me.

What about T2 square in the middle of the plate? Ohh and laser FTW!!

The ultimate DIY? A Stax SRM-T2!
The stock T2 runs about as hot as my old BH so I'm with Justin here, more holez!!!!

It's slowly dawning on me just how fucking big that amp is.

slow forum
That's very cool and always nice to see just how messed up the European borders really are.

Pffft... who needs a BHSE? Old school BH FTW!!!!

I do think that the P+G won't be cheap but if you could check Nate, then that would be great. The low impedance isn't a problem for me but for others it might be. As for TKD, a 4-gang 2500 series is roughly 180

The Headcase Stax thread
He used Quad ESL57 parts so for the tweeter that would mean 3.5um Mylar-C, quite a bit thicker then the 1.5um stuff used in the original Omega. As for copying the orignal Omega drivers, I believe that was my comment. Some of the older He phones borrowed heavily from the SR-Omega in terms of stator design but he always used velour earpads so it can't have sounded good.

The Headcase Stax thread
I have no idea what he's saying there but that driver won't sound anything like the stock drivers. Very different materials and he doesn't show how the made the diaphragm and treated it.

I'll "need" a bunch of 4 gang pots soon so I'm looking into TKD and P+G options to see just how much cheaper they would be. Handy for those of us that don't need just one RK50...

Make sure you get the old drivers back since somebody might want them. It certainly would be cool to replace the woven dust covers with mylar and thus airdamp the drivers...

I'm surprised he lasted this long.

I'm in. I have no idea how many I'll need but 20-30 sounds about right.

The HE60 really needs a Blue Hawaii to wake it up. He used his super engineering talent to conclude a dipole driver, which as to be 100% symmetrical to achieve the low distortion electrostatics are capable of, would somehow sound better turned the other way around. Probably without ever thinking about the effects of the now open baffle.

I usually just stripped all the nylon from the headpads which made them much more comfortable.

Ahh sorry about that, half dead from flu over here. All of the other headpads will fit since all these headphones use the same basic chassis.

They are extrusions.

It could be the o-ring but it is at the back of the driver so you should see it though the back grill. The odds are close to 99% that they are broken though... HDxx0 pads will not work since you have to have solid sides on the earpads to seal the baffle. That's also why the o-rings are so important. You can also ask them to do the RSA mod and reverse the drivers...

I do like the new cable entry (sans port naturally) and the snug fit of the new headpad but then again I have a massive head. I'd say a modded mk2 is the mk3 though...

What did you do today?
Damn Doug, good to hear you are ok.

I thought you had a BL with Mk2 pads? There is more to the Mk2 then just the pads...

Mk3 with the improved parts but the sound of the Mk1...
