Only 7.11 oz? Why even bother for a drink that small
-
What, is it a picture of oicdn now?
-
Oh, it has a SFW image now? I'll just go right ahead and click on the infamous link then.
-
That also brings up the question of whether the tube tester tests at the same voltage as the tube is being used at.
-
For all we know the heater is the only thing actually connected.
-
You have a power supply that randomly spits out power even when it should be switched off, and this didn't bother you?
-
Yeah, it does work. You could try cleaning it with alcohol first though.
-
Is it getting popcorn time?
-
Not to mention that the K1000 can sense budget equipment and adjust its performance accordingly.
-
Surprise: It didn't blow anything up (yet)

The first thing I did when I got them was stick some books under them to raise them up to bring the tweeters to ear level (until I work out something a little nicer looking). I was just being passive-aggressive towards randerson for making fun of my free speakers.

What would be the point of a "good stand" for PC speakers used on a desk with limited space that aren't positioned ideally anyways?
-
Oh, it makes a statement alright.

From the manual: "DISCLAIMER: The 4mm plugs used on modern Hi-Fi speaker cables can be inserted into European mains sockets. Needless to say, this is pointless and can be fatal if tried. Make sure that young members of the family are prevented from ever doing this."

The new issue is out already?

Epos M5
-
I ended up deciding to give the Epos M5 a try, since on second thought I figured the Totem Rainmaker would probably be way too boomy that close to a wall. So far I'm liking them... clear and uncolored midrange, with subdued treble and bass, very AKG-like. Can't really comment on soundstage with them positioned like this though.

Now that's what I call an impulse buy. Good luck with it.

Germania better watch out.

The problem is there's a (wall-mounted) shelf immediately to the right of the desk, which needs to stay where it is, otherwise I would just let the speakers hang slightly past the edge of the desk. Desk is 37" wide, and the monitor is 22.5" wide, so the absolute maximum is 7.25" without shifting everything off-center. 7.5" would only require a small enough of a difference that I might be able to live with it.

Yeah... I'm surprised by how small a lot of speakers are turning out to be.
