  1. I thought I already posted a pic here, although technically it's no longer the new TV anymore. Today Sears came by to swap it out with another one, since it had a dead subpixel (gotta hand it to them for great customer service, they didn't give me any hassle at all about exchanging it over such a small issue, and the girl on the phone even had a cute voice ). I'll take some new pics later, I only just got the new one setup a few minutes ago, and want to watch some shit on it first.
  2. A small desktop lamp and some 6500K CFL bulbs... bias lighting for my new TV.

And I'm sure it would serve better justice than simply counter-suing.

The camera did, but the photographer didn't.

    Yeah, no kidding.

    There goes the neighborhood
  7. Madlax certainly looks great on this set. Now I only wish more of my favourite shows were in 16:9. On a similar note, does anyone have recommendations for an upscaling DVD player with good noise reduction? The noise reduction filter in the Panny isn't very effective with some of my DVDs, but I know it can be done since they clean up real nice with the hqdn3d filter in mplayer when I watch things on the computer.
  8. And now it's arrived... so I finally have a TV that wasn't manufactured when I was 10 years old.
  9. Sounds like a real winner right there.
  10. It's up front just so you can see the pretty glowentubens.
  11. Jacob's amazing luck has affected my current TV, so I bought a 50" Panasonic plasma, should be delivered tomorrow.

Yeah but what about us average sized skinny dudes? Who's our hero?
  15. I think I still have an extra copy too, but I won't know until next time I load Windows.
  16. We already have people standing by, simply waiting for the order.
  17. Sadly it is not very effective against velociraptors, despite it's good qualities in regards to zombies.
  18. I'm pretty sure I have a Happy Hacking keyboard stuck away somewhere that I don't need anymore.
  19. Sure can, that's why it's called a parametric eq, because you select the three parameters for it (frequency, bandwidth, and gain). You're not going to be able to get as specific as 2134Hz, the two closest frequencies with the fine-tuning adjustment on the DEQ2496 are 2118Hz and 2143Hz, but I highly doubt you would actually need that degree of precision... at that range your peaks and valleys are going to be a lot wider than just a few Hz.
  20. It's a combination of shadows and blur; it has six strings on it. The official product photos don't show any strings, so it was a surprise to have them at all.
  21. Digital parametric equalizers are nothing special... hell the DEQ2496 is only like $200 or so.
  22. Same as my avatar:
  23. Six of these (transferring my DVDs from regular Slappa cases): Some more of these: A few dividers: And one of these for software discs:
  24. Parts for making some 6F8G => 6SN7GT tube adapters, because I'm not paying 25 fucking dollars a piece for some random Chinese adapters.
