  1. Thanks Kerry, By the way did you see my post in GB Digital Attenuator post. You probably missed it. If you have time woiuld you read it. Les
  2. im a bit curios re the Aavid 7721-3PPS shoulder washers. About to finish my build and noted Craigs reference to these being the best to use with Stainless screws and getting the required Torque of 1.1nm. I see from the Datasheet that it says recommended force be .5 to .7. So no one has had any problems by cranking them up to 1.1 for T0220. Thanks les
  3. Kerry, Been trying to get your code for the i2c .96" oled to work. The only way i have got it to display is first load an example(adafruit one). Then load your sketch it will work. Remove power and reapply but the display does not. I have not connected it to the attenuator yet. I think the main code for att is starting as the red Led on the Nano flickers with the encoder. Just seems that the display wont kick into life. i am wondering if the example code is somehow initialising the display. Im not any good at coding so any help would be appreciated. The adafruit example i used starts every time i power up the setup. Thanks les
  4. Nice work Kerry, what else can one say.
  5. Birgir, What did it say?. Anything from China that is mains supplied definitely needs to be checked. Just opened up a steel cased laminator to find tthe Lazy Basterds just cut the earth off the mains cable so a disaster waiting to happen.
  6. Thanks, thought so and have ordered a couple to try. Les
  7. Hi Kerry, Thanks for the code, what oled display are you using. Les
  8. Finished my HV its now all boxed up and running well. I used a Paul Holden transformer and its dead quiet, expensive but worth every penny. Listened for hours and it ran just warm. Thanks to all for a utterly enjoyable Audio experience.
  9. Try Kevin suggestion of way back. Turn out the lights and see if there is any arcing.
  10. Would it be worth adding a bit more cap to cap that was added to remove the oscillation. If it got worse or better then it might give a clue.
  11. Agree with Mister X, Both Seagate and Western Digital provide free backup software which is Acronis. Have used this for years, just use clone option. Works great.
  12. NoPants, No need to risk a board if your desoldering skills arn't that great, just cut the leads. Parts are much cheaper than PCB's.

  14. Have a great one Birgir
  15. Thanks Kevin, Yes that's what I did when ordering my bits. And being a PIA I wanted very close to 450v but with tolerances I ended up with 469v. Guess I will just make do with what I have and correct it some time later . My build of amps and PSU went well all going and no hitches or smoke. Thanks again for your efforts and that makes 5 out of 5. Now back to the T2.
  16. Where can I get some 440k resistors?. I have had to make up my divider with a series of resistors and it don't look pretty. Thanks Les
  17. What I was really referring to were the 2sa970 /2sc2240 ect for the amp. Researched the Mpsw series and they seemed to be hard to get also. Spotted the 2s series on ebay so wondered if they were worth taking a chance on them. Les
  18. Hi, Where is everyone getting their transistors from? Had a look on ebay , bdent and Chinese sellers. Are they worth buying from or do we have to take Pot luck, buy them then test?. Thanks Les
  19. John, What are you using for a front panel. Want to use 10mm but not available locally. Les
  20. Received my ones here in NZ. Really well packed. Thanks Les
  21. Thanks all , 450v it will be. Re read and somehow I missed the "BIAS Regulator" and read this as something else. Hopefully Paul will make a decent traffo for me.
