There is Stax newbie burn-in.

Thanks Birgir. Will give unmatched ones a try for a first build. Can always replace later if I like the amp with my SR-009.

Thanks. I saw singles at Mouser, but lack the equipment to do a proper matching.

Looking for matched pairs or ideally a matched quad of C2M1000170D SiC FETs for an upcoming KGSiC Cabon build. Anyone know if these available anyplace to purchase?

KGST PCB group run
The filament traces on the KGST PCB are only ~18mm long and IMO should not require 2oz traces there. But if you want to pay extra for it, couldn't hurt.

Stax amps parts specs
Also if there is interference, verify with calipers that Mouser sent the correct part. I ordered 7721-3PPSG and received a bag marked the same, but the actual parts were 7721-1PPSG with a slightly larger diameter than will fit a TO-220 case. I wrongly drilled out the heatsink to fit the bushing and ended up arcng to ground after a few hours run time. After I rebuild with new ordered parts and checking actual dimensions, everything fit together without modification and now all is working well.

The ultimate DIY? A Stax SRM-T2!
How much extra for matching?

Yes, thanks Birgir.

Are the JJ octals reliable now? Those were the ones with the problems.

Has this PCB for the carbon been validated to build copies? http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/boards/kgsshvcarbonv1.zip

DefQon, I have a pair of virgin Conrad flat back heatsinks sitting around from a too long put off F5 project. I believe they are the 350mm long versions. If interested, PM me offline and I can check further and I'm sure we can work something out.

10K is what I believe Kevin recommends.

The Multi Amp aka Dynalo Mk2
I have 2 matched pairs of 2SJ74BL bought from Jack at Tech DIY, that I can give to you. Bought them for an F5 , but used the 2SK170s in my KGST. I'm in Shenzhen China ATM, and won't get back home until Thursday. If you still need them then, PM me.

I prefer A too. Balanced input (opposite polarity signals) are referenced to each other, and ground is not referenced.

What voltages are you experimenting with?

I'm using a Gungnir in 4V balanced output too. It's truely a balanced circuit directly from the differential DACs, not an afterthought. With a Gungnir, one could always easily go to SE output at 2V and get a -6dB attenuation. The 50K Alpha pot in my KGST is at about 8:30-9:00 for a realistic volume level. I just bought a 4 gang Alps RK50 from Justin to try out on my next build. I may try some attenuation before it with some Vishay TX2575 resistors to give a more useful range of adjustment.

Digital attenuation leaves artifacts, even at 32bit depth and 64bit computation. I too was a sceptic before I heard with SR-009. http://www.parts-express.com/in-line-xlr-attenuator-pad-10db--240-412

Parts and layout looks a lot like a KGST (KGSSHV front end) with SiC replacing the tubes. Very interested in your impressions too, Spritzer. Especially when used with SR-009s.
