  1. Yes. I already have a replacement lined up
  2. Bah. Try the above with Dubonnet and Dolin and report back.
  3. Mine above is insanely delicious.
  4. Blue Paradise 2 oz cognac 1 oz Dubonnet Rouge (Dolin Rouge) 1/2 tsp Creme de Violette Shake (or maybe stir) with ice and garnish with a lemon twist.
  5. cool, I'd be interested to see the rise time of the function generator on a square wave. Most modern ones aren't great that I've seen (compared to say a beta22 specifications), and it would be nice to have another alternative. I can very much recommend the Tek CFG280, that's what I have and it's very solid unit. It has the advantage of being able to apply a DC offset to the waveform, which means you can do things like bias devices. It's a very handy feature in fact. It does other cool things as well, but this is my favorite feature so far.
  6. yup, that's my wife's standby these days. You'd probably love some homemade Amer Picon, as this is one of the ingredients
  7. Anyone else need anything from Tent? Trying to defray the insanely high cost of shipping... Already have 2 people in.
  8. yeah, should be somewhat soon... I have a part order to get ready (it has several long lead items, also a few sole source items like some transformers from Scientific Conversion and oscillators from Tent) then I'll get back to this, hopefully this weekend. The resistors arrived from PcX and they measure properly. Yay!
  9. Interesting. So is Dolin Blanc the sweetest of the "dry" vermouths?
  10. Heh I thought the same Al. Just poured another one with bitters. The orange juice works in fact, with bitters it's not as subtle. I might like to try Dolin Blanc. Any rules for Blanc vs Dry? Did you like the Raj? I still really enjoy it.
  11. The Jupiter is easily better than any martini I've had (not a huge fan to start with of the classic). The Blue Moon might work better with another gin.
  12. The Jupiter 1.5 oz gin 0.75 oz dry vermouth 1 tsp Creme de Violette 1 tsp orange juice Shake on ice and strain.
  13. The Blue Moon 2 oz gin 0.5 oz Creme de Violette 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice Shake, strain and garnish with a twist.
  14. what about split the difference at 80mV?
  15. nm Shelly, just bought some R&W Creme de Violette and Pimm's No. 1
  16. Doesn't work with virtual machines either.
  17. G-R XO Love it.
  18. nope, but I'm hitting the point of diminishing returns. I'm going to hit Anvil with what I have and then once I get to the end of that decide what to do Most likely I'll start Savoy at that point and when I get to a drink that requires some ingredient across the three, I'll pick it up then.
  19. And this drink marks the moving on to Anvil. It's a very nice drink, I might go with more lime but very nice. I have a feeling it's due to the (amazing) brandy. I got Savoy in the mail today. Wow, cool book.
  20. The Delicious Sour 2 oz peach brandy 2 oz applejack Juice of 1 lime 1 tsp sugar 1 egg white Soda Shake all but the soda in and iced shaker. Strain into a glass. Add a splash of soda.
  21. it's hard to really compare the approaches using pictures. Do you have schematics? Also, note that Sony will have less integration to do, then say dCS, which goes against my argument a bit I suppose. I think if we had some schematics, we could better discuss this.
  22. Convert between the various digital standards. Typically these are CPLDs running custom logic code.
  23. I think we can work out an exchange program stay tuned. Have you tried the WK with yellow Chartreuse?
  24. Jim, do you have some Calvados? I absolutely love the stuff. I'd heartedly recommend the Widow's Kiss. I'd love to also try it with the yellow Chartreuse. If you need a good one, the one I have is the Maison Surrenne petite of Calvadoses IMHO.
