  1. dude every 'lytic in that thing is a Black Gate.
  2. hmm.. those 2 blue caps are ROE MKP1830, out of production now what happened to the 2 big blackgates? was there some sort of damping material there?
  3. hand-wound cotton is of course a superior weave.
  4. yup! here's some extra credit: what's the optional 9v battery input for? hint: it's not documented in the manual either. edit: I guess it's on the schematic... oh well...
  5. oh and... stop reading the T-Shirt threads and please pay for your boards. Thanks to the 3 people that already have
  6. why hasn't anyone thought of just adding more motors? has to be moar better right? probably all those motor ration cards...
  7. finally, we are getting somewhere. To answer your question, a T-shirt (or tee shirt) is a shirt, usually buttonless, collarless, and pocketless, with a round neck and short sleeves, that is pulled on over the head and covers most of a person's torso. The sleeves of the T-shirt extend at least slightly over the shoulder but not completely over the elbow (in short-sleeve version). A shirt that is either longer or shorter than this ceases to be a T-shirt.
  8. yeah, I guess they are DC motors... anyways, sure looks pretty...
  9. sure they are motors and not flywheels?
  10. 3 motors == fail... are they serious about that?
  11. close, but no cigar well, lemme qualify that... if it's like the Xono, then note where the words "jumper" appear on the silk ... it'll be easy to adjust the loading.
  12. This thread is for the purposes of asking and answering questions about T-Shirts that you have either been unable to find anywhere else in this forum or asking a question that somehow seems inappropriate to ask in other threads. As long as the question has something to do with T-Shirts, anything goes (within respectable reason, of course). Your questions and their answers may be about anything that has to do with any type of T-Shirt.
  13. type in about:config in the URL bar location and then filter using the word "spell". change layout.spellcheckDefault to 1 if it's not.
  14. so a "friend" wants to know what flash you guys would recommend for the G9
  15. it has fixed gain and will work with MC down to 0.4mV-0.5mV. With MM carts you'll have have that much more gain. No problem with that. The Grado Sonata mentioned is what, 4-5mV MI output? It's been a while since I owned one. I'm planning on using a 2.5-3mV high output MM cartridge.
  16. yes, input resistance and capacitance are user definable. The circuit uses split-RIAA. The second stage has 30dB gain. The first is 29dB minus the RIAA EQ... .. so around 60dB. Here's an excerpt from the service manual: "The phono stage was tested on two different systems with a Grado Sonata (47 Kohms load), a Kiseki Lapus Lazuli (100 ohms load), and a Sumiko Celebration (1000 ohms load) cartridges all of which have outputs in the range of 400 to 500 microvolts. The circuit was quiet and had sufficient gain. A subjective consensus has it that the phono stage offered precise imaging and spatial placement and good depth. Compared with the Xono, the Pass Labs reference, it was slightly noisier, and had less gain. From a sonic standpoint, it acquitted itself well in comparison, lacking only slightly in dynamics."
  17. thanks Iron_Dreamer! laxx:
  18. is this a serious suggestion? I'm assuming so...
  19. good enough recommendations for me. I just bought the G9.
  20. For those that asked, each circuit board is 177 mm x 127 mm (6.97" x 5").
  21. good catch. I should have recommended Jack as well. I need to make it rain where he lives,, as he said that's when he'll start matching the Fairchild devices he's selling for the F5. I'd like to stick them in my F4, as they're better than the IR devices IMHO. Any ideas? The Russian and Chinese can control the weather, so I should be able to...
  22. hey, don't be so mean.... he can type and hit the post button too.
  23. yes, I'm heading up a group buy for the Linear parts. Otherwise, you can get the Toshiba parts here for a good price: 2SK170; 2SK170BL Toshiba Low Noise JFET - Buy Online @ AmpsLab You'll have to match 2 of them to make the dual 2sk389...
  24. heh. My wife has an XTi actually, great camera
