and seeing as you cannot get the BG caps anymore and last I saw some people were asking $200 each.... personally, I think the price is fair.

I'm holding one in my hand and it's identical. I'm comparing the markings inside the jack. If yours is like mine, it would say "Furutech" on the bottom side of the jack, meaning you'd have to remove it and turn it 180 degrees to read the text, or use a dentist mirror to peer under the jack. I'm pretty sure that is the same. The older models didn't say Furutech on them, I'm pretty sure about that, but yours is newer and I'm 99% sure it will have the words if you look carefully. Please report back!

I believe this is the case on the previous run of their bottom-of-the-line IEC jacks. I have pics somewhere if needed.

Alpha Core sells hookup wire that is basically an unrolled version of their inductors that is folded over a few times. Think the leads of a foil inductor and that's what it is.

agreed. I have 2 kids and it's really frustrating when you do get 2-3 hours and you either create more work for yourself my screwing something up, or something as trivial takes 20x longer than it should have. That's when DIY gets really annoying.

just think in amortized time, once the kids are 3 or so your output will skyrocket!

so, just for grins, try the RCA outputs and see if you feel the amp has enough gain

drivers and crossover parts are readily available from any supplier, such as Madisound.

note that this depends on how much gain your source has. My digital source is pretty low output and this gain would definitely not work well with the HD650 in my case, as I felt that 7 (isn't that the next step up that amb lists?) was lacking a bit when listening to swt61 beta22. He listened as well, as I'm sure he'd agree. You can definitely start running into (too) low output source with various CDPs and of course phono stages. Just something to be mindful of.
