if you wanted to run it on DC power all the time, and not worry about the battery, then do the following: - Charge the amp all the way, and let it run so the battery is about 65% capacity - Remove the back panel of the amp and unplug the battery Thats it but i dont think its going to make much difference in the life of the battery

blame apple. with plug-n-play USB DACs looking more and more possible on Android players (even Windows mobile?), iOS digital output isnt all it used to be.

if I did, the DAC would have to be worse than what's already in the iPhone. battery life would be only about 4 hours with a DAC like whats in the Pico USB DAC. and subtract from that whatever power is required by the Apple circuitry. this is why, unfortunately, the solutions that do take digital out from the Apple products are all bulky (they make you use the full size USB plug too)

it should work with docks that take the digital output. the ones that use analog output, nope.

why would someone want to be an unlimited AT&T user

Apple makes themselves difficult to work with and I can already see things shifting to Android with plug-n-play USB DACs.

on the later iphones/touch/nano its probably the same signal coming out of a highly integrated chip, with the digital volume control at max or set at some fixed point when using the line out
