  1. Actually, no it didn't. One of my SACDs wouldn't play in it, and 2 of the IsoMike's wouldn't either. Likely the majority of these players have the same problem, they just aren't used with a lot of SACDs. Mine is 17 for 20 in playing SACDs so far.
  2. I just bought one Don't get the Sony...don't make the same mistake I did. Although it was nice to try it
  3. Take 2 of them, strip them out, build the ultra tube electrostatic amp in them (PSU + Amp) Cheaper than getting a box like that made. Use the front window for a backlit logo like Manley
  4. Nice job on the quoting milkpowder, since the Jennifer Crock post has been edited. And I was hoping a cat fight was about to break out
  5. There's also 2M resistance before the 4.7M so you have to measure before this too
  6. I would think when you have $20,000 cables listed on your website, and other cables where it says "Call" for the price, you can afford a $1,000 refund?
  7. Here's some prototype pics of the KGBH SE. I plan to bring it to CanJam in a week w/ a pair of black O2 MKII on a Sony SCD-1 ^bling option ^MOT
  8. I'd rank the soundstage of The Menace above both of those
  9. Hopefully there will be no problems with the reliability as is widely reported. Although as I know it doesnt take more than 1 or 2% to have problems for something to be known as unreliable, so i hope it's a case of that. May try to stock up on parts if I can get them
  10. stock, but it's being sent to Tyrion first

Toilet paper hung in improper overhand fashion...
  12. i'd guess they are tube rectifiers, and there's going to be 1 PSU per channel
  13. you should find a way to make sure the transformer cases are grounded to the case if those grommets are isolating them
  14. The Japanese Victor Company (JVC) supplies the mathematical and physical heart of the CDP-777: K2 digital processing as used in their acclaimed XRCD compact discs (Reimyo uses the Extended Version 2.0 form), delivering 176.4 kHz/24-bit performance with an effective data rate in excess of 700 kHz with 4x oversampling. Components of the K2 Interface The K2 Interface has three major features:
  15. I don't think it's SPDIF, I see at least 2 optical connections
  16. I got a Nate XLR cable yesterday. The construction is very good and it's a very tube-like cable
  17. It's a differential output, measured stator to stator, so the absolute maximum if the design allowed for it would be 2 * power supply voltage peak to peak. The Blue Hawaii will output 1500vpp, slightly less than 2 * it's 800V of power supply (the bottom of the waveform will clip first because of the type of design, same with the Stax 007t). At 800Vpp, SPL w/ Omega II is 106dB, so this would be louder than that. Max output of KGSS & Stax 717 are both around 1200vpp, Stax 007t is probably somewhere around 950vpp
  18. probably is measuring the voltage stator to stator, so a 450V power supply here's the voltages that the electrostatic amps run on (that i know of): 450V: Egmont? 600V: HEV90, Aristaeus, Gilmore All-Triode (Woo GES) 700V (+/- 350): 717, 007t, KGSS 800V (+/- 400V): Blue Hawaii, ES-1?
  19. What amp runs on 900v?
  20. I'm expecting another n_maher cable this week I think Nate will forgo his senior year of Cable College and turn pro next year
  21. That's not true, the lowest I ever saw them in Japan was the equivalent of about $1350
  22. $1200, or $1500 if it's the export black one
  23. You can get the junction to case C/W in the datasheet, then add in the C/W for your mounting components. I try to keep all measured heatsink temps at 60C or below, 50C or below if it's exposed
  24. I asked for a FR graph of the new Omega II but they said it's not available
