Full Circle Nadje Noordhuis 2022 https://album.link/i/1636359193 Example: I was captivated by the opening of the first song (example), as I was poking through the list of newer Jazz releases. The rest of the album didn't disappoint.

I Love A Love Song! Rachael & Vilray 2023 https://album.link/i/1651972199 Example: I have been a big fan of Rachel Price for years. I use to see her on Live from Here and Lake Street Drive. I was very happy to see this in the new years. Her voice is a treat to my ears. Sent me down a little youtube journey into past. So here is another treat I found {with some unknown back-up band she must have met somewhere}:

Cheers Mike Sr. Have a Happy Birthday..

Cheers Adam - Happy Birthdays.

Doing this too often these days. Crosby, Stills & Nash Crosby, Stills & Nash 1969 https://album.link/i/908303090 Great song: Ranks very high on the first album, first side, first song list. RIP

Well this was in my queue for a while. Gives an idea of the depth of the queue. Drone Mass Jóhann Jóhannsson, Theatre of Voices, Paul Hillier, American Contemporary Music Ensemble 2022 https://album.link/i/1603845983 Example: Thanks for this Ric. I am not sure I would have added this to my queue on my own, not knowing the work or the composer. But it was a good listen. I got into the themes and the blend of voice, instruments and other.

I have not had a Jazz Party in a while: Jazz Party Duke Ellington 1959 https://album.link/i/192990980 Example: As good as you think it would be.

One package of Costco bacon, plus a block of six Hawaiian style rolls = supper.

That is a bit of money for a basket. But it is really pretty. I have not made the jump to IMS or VST yet. I have heard good things about both and was leaning towards a VST 20g ridgeless. Do you (or others) have a preference? But at the price, I could try a few. I have not had an interest in a puck screen at this point. Next step after the Weber is the refractometer.

Cheers Brother Grahame!! Wishing you much Diet C for the Gman. Happy Birthday -

Born Under A Bad Sign (Mono) Albert King 1967 https://album.link/i/1458555555 Example: I was watching a documentary on SRV and he talked about Albert as being a huge influence. And I had to think about what King albums I had listened to. Not many, so I went back to some early stuff. I like.

Started yesterday, was worthy to come back and finish today. Brahms: Symphonies Nos. 3 & 4 Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Herbert Blomstedt 2022 https://album.link/i/1620195158 Example: Herbert at 95 still doing his thing. This is not a grand, bombastic telling of the Brahms. It is a lovely more delicate interpretation. He pulled on different themes that I don't think I recognized in the past. Not that I am super familiar with the 3rd and 4th, but I really appreciated these recordings.

Blow By Blow Jeff Beck 1975 https://album.link/i/158639291 Example: Because reasons...

I do like me some dodie

I thought I was done for the night, but I just kept on listening. I guess these ETYs out of the laptop are easy to listen to. And so is: Introducing Kenny Burrell Kenny Burrell 1956 https://album.link/i/1475990463 Example: These blue note guys knew what they were doing. I should see if they recorded any other cats.

The Magnificent Thad Jones (Remastered) Thad Jones 1956 https://album.link/i/715526868 Example: Thad doing Thad things.

Get your music while it is 'fresh'. Classical has had a lot of releases already this year. Janáček - Brahms - Bartók Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Fazil Say 2023 https://album.link/i/1653100479 Example: Maybe a touch challenging for a Monday morning. But captivating regardless. I don't think I have had a Janáček recording before. Patricia and Fazil play well together.

And Then I Wrote Willie Nelson 1962 https://album.link/i/1443134445 Example: Classic Album with Classic tracks. I guess I should have listened last year when it turned 60yo.

Okay did I need a new water separator? and screen? and portafilter seal? Was there a problem I was trying to fix? Nope. But look shiny.. 💎🦜 {peck peck}

Some more 'fresh' music: Mozart: Krönungsmesse, K. 317 & Other Choral Works (Live) Various Artists (--I think that they just didn't want to list them all) 2023 https://album.link/i/1660093617 Example: Slightly compressed for this live recording, maybe a touch conservative on the recording engineers part (speculation). But some really nice performances.

I went to visit Jimi Hendrix in the rain.

1995 opus. Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness Smashing Pumpkins 1995 https://album.link/i/721224313 Example (of many): I didn't listen to much of 'current' music in the 90s. I was all over the place once I got my first main rig. But happy to have listened to this, I really liked it, with its ebbs and flows. They are much more than the '1979' tune that we all know.

Listen to a soundtrack I thought, for some light listening. Oops: TÁR Hildur Guðnadóttir, Cate Blanchett, Sophie Kauer 2022 https://album.link/i/1642488191 Example: A combination of clips, recordings and score. Some good things in there, but it left me disjointed. It feels like those super deluxe album releases were you get a bunch of takes and talking along with a couple of songs. Interesting, but not in rotation. Maybe I need to see the movie. :}

Nice - I have that in my queue. I was listening to 'fresh' music last night as well. Mirrored in Time Jörgen Van Rijen, Alma Quartet 2023 https://album.link/i/1659656775 Example: All things trombone. A nice mix of challenging pieces along with fun and lovely works. Cheers to 2023.

Thanks Greg - had to listen/post the playlist. Cheers
