Speaker gasket question
we were pretty careful, but its possible. i tend to get nervous even approaching the area in general. I try to impart that to my family but my dad's response to this was to charge at one of the speakers yesterday holding a rack shelf with the spikes pointed towards the speaker....just to mess with me. I almost died. (we were putting everything back in place)

Speaker gasket question
(large pic) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1168044/headphone%20rig%202014/Stands-10-30-14-2.png This morning I noticed a loose section of the gasket on my speaker. Where the jigsaw parts meet. I very lightly pressed it back on to the sticky backing, but am not sure if the back is something fragile or not. Anyone know how big a deal this is?

And now what did you do TODAY?
Put speakers on stands, put rack back in place. Should have a new dac tomorrow, so this is the last time I'll have the sony in my system I guess. My power cords are too short to put my conditioner on the bottom rack which is annoying. I noticed that for some reason my speakers dont have bass boost or eq knobs as detailed in the online manual. I never intended on using them, but is still surprising. 3am whisper volume right now. Playing around with positioning since the manual says to use a triangle which I never bothered with before. I put 3 layers of neoprene shop pads between each speaker. Carpet pad in reverse direction underneath each stand to maneuver into place as needed. Can't 'hear' the stands yet, which is good. But volume is very low at the moment. I dont think I'm going to paint or cover the stands, I like the current look. Glad this is finally in place. *edit* I forgot to post a picture of the inside of the stands earlier.

They haven't sold yet. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Esoteric-SACD-collection-/121463581214?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item1c47cb2a1e My SACD sale money is earmarked for a new dac. Or possibly more rhodium. I am shipping these out today, but Paypal wont give me that money until Nov. 8 (!) https://www.dropbox.com/s/fpui1kv628rhz1e/DSC00051.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/sbfm53jlzx2sz85/DSC00050.png?dl=0 I'm going to force myself to sell off all my SACDs and go digital. There are ISOs of the black sabbath, thank god.

Its probably the vocals. I've only heard it the one time as well. Ive wanted to hear it for a while, always been curious about it. Pink floyd is better.
