That guy is amazingly annoying.

Happy Birthday Bryan.

That sucks Tom. I really enjoyed the demo setup when I had it here. If they get this product figured out I would definitely pick one up.

Never made it to the Apple Store to pick up a new living room iMac so I ended up buying the cheap IPS LED Monitor from LG sold at Best Buy to plug into one of the spare Minis. Image quality is very good though the weird shot glass monitor stand causes some serious wobble. Nothing a Mini and stack of paperbacks can't fix.

While I do not see enough difference to necessarily account for the price difference between Gitzo and RRS, the actual working pieces/mechanisms seemed to be of better quality on the RRS as did the weight vs. support strength comparo. The other tripod that I saw and liked was the weird 3 Legged Things line, "Bryan" and "Eddie"
-
No they did not cancel. I am kind of glad as I went and looked at the competitors and I did not find anything that seemed to be built at anywhere near the standards of RRS.
-
I also got my tracking number for my new tripod on Friday from RRS. I guess they got something different out of our last conversation than I did.

Looks like my trusty iMac has taken a dive. Looks like bad hard drive as when I use the SL install disc it does not find the main HD. May put it into back up role if I can get a new HD put in. Been looking at replacing this one for a while so I guess I will be doing some Mac shopping this weekend.

Took the new 16-35 out for a few minutes on this beautiful afternoon. Updated skyline with the Freedom Tower
-
Ha, I was just starting one of these. Happy Birthday Juan.

Some S100 shots from today's locale.

Canon 16-35 f2.8L. I think this is the only non-super zoom L glass I do not own so I figured it might fit nicely as an everyday lens as I am getting tired of dragging around so many primes.
-
Honestly, I am contemplating picking up a S95 as I remember being much happier with the pictures from that when I had it. One More! Handheld HDR.
-
Some from this morning's walk. This one was using the built in 3 stop ND filter. So was this Random snapshots

Cancelled the Really Right Stuff order today. Called today, as they told me it would definitely be out this week, only to find out they still do not have the parts so I would be looking, by their calculations, at a first week of December delivery for an item shown in stock in October 26th. Now I guess I need to find another tripod and head that will accept the L Bracket from RRS.

Some highish ISO Canon S100 samples from around my Hotel tonight. 1/8 f2.0 ISO 1600

New Pocket Camera

Speaking to Kerry and the person he is building that BH for, it is going to be a pretty dramatic piece when finished with a lot more custom aesthetics/paint/etc.
-
Yeah, I am told this is the week. I guess they only build them when they get enough orders in. I am told I am number 8 of 38 waiting.

While there were not a lot of Head Casers there this year, the ones that were made the meet worthwhile. Had a good time seeing some of the old school NY crew and finding new toys I need to buy. Best of show for me was the JH-3A and the SR-009 on the BH and Woo amp. Ari's Tower of Power with some rude Ginger hand jumping into my shot. Kerry's Blue Hawaii Random dorks with headphones. Random Gear Colin, a little too excited about Diet Mt. Dew.
-
Happy Birthday Dinny. Hope the birthday weekend was great and you got lots of cool toys.
-
Didn't get to listen to the JH-3A at RMAF but spent time with it yesterday at the meet and I am listening to it now at home. I was not convinced in meet conditions but now that I am at home feeding it HiRes without all the meet distractions, I am sold.

I actually have the smaller one. It works very well. I am still waiting on Really Right Stuff to ship my tripod. Now they tell me middle to end of next week. I think I could have made one myself at this rate, and saved a boatload of money.
