I have never actually seen a Sigma camera in the wild. Maybe because they are ridiculously overpriced for what they are. I have a camera memory card question. Has the SDXC caught up with CF in speed, at a much lower price? I am looking at large cards for the D800 and I can get 95 read 90 write SDXC cards for half the price of the equivalent CF cards. Seems like I should put the big card in the SD slot with a smaller backup CF. Am I missing something?

I honestly didn't know how many pictures there are per roll so I was unsure if that is a good success rate or not. Looks like a good catch in a rather difficult shooting situation with sharp contrast and lots of harsh light.

I want more resolution and the D700 is the same as the D3 I already have so it seems redundant. I see the D800 as a 5D mkII replacement for me.- Happy Birthday SWT61

I am running seriously low on Canon equipment at my house. I am really enjoying shooting with the Nikon body and I am contemplating getting the D800 now and keeping the D3 instead of buying the D4 as was my original plan. The D3 is not really missing anything I need and I would like a FF body that is smaller/lighter on the Nikon side. I have no interest in video but there have been some times when I have wished for a larger image size when cropping. The D800 image size is a bit too large but I am sure I could live with Ginormous files as HDs are cheap, outside of flood price hikes. Would I be nuts to get the D800 and some glass to complement the D3 instead of picking up the D4?- The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
How do you know when the central point is lined up? On the Lensalign you have to focus though the center hole onto a target behind it as that lines up the lens, etc. with the ruler perfectly. Seemed kind of fidgety to me so I did not use it much.- Happy Birthday Thrice

Took the new 70-200 out for some play on a cold afternoon. Mostly just shot the local wildlife. Also one of the old standby, the Freedom Tower- Ye Macce Threade
Yeah I use my Zinio app to read magazines during my commute so this is one of the features I am most interested in. I have no issue with the speed of the iPad 2- Ye Macce Threade
Because I like toys. I carry an iPad daily, I use my Air maybe once per month. I would definitely pay for a better equipped iPad at a price equivalent to a stripped down MBA.- The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
That is some serious macro. I am playing with my Macro lens but nothing very interesting. 100% Crop Such a narrow depth of view.- The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
Nope, I am only using primes on the 5D mk II. I am also unloading the 1D IV as I do not really like using it as much as the pro Nikon body.- The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
I got notice yesterday that the D4 release has been delayed at least a month and that numbers will be very low early in the release. At this point I could probably have the D800 before I get a D4. I did get the Nikon 70-200 last night. Once again, I prefer the Canon version in fit and finish. I will have to try it out this weekend to see how it stands up in image quality.- The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
That was all done in post from a P&S picture.- The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
Yeah the file size of the 5D mk II RAW images was always my major complaint with the camera. Can't imagine dealing with 700+ 60mb files in transferring and manipulation. I am actually contemplating trading one of the 5Ds for a D700 as it seems like an excellent small D3. I am actually enjoying the Nikon experience quite a bit. So different than the Canon experience. I still greatly prefer the Canon lenses though.- Happy Birthday Jeff (VPI)!!!
Thanks everyone. Mike I was actually a nice little kid. I didn't realize my proclivity for torture until later in life.- Chair: Steelcase Leap or Herman Miller Aeron or neither
Never have liked any of the Aeron's I have had in the office. The Acuity we have now is really quite nice though.- The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.

It is the new version. I really wanted a small zoom with good quality so this will work well plus give me macro capabilities.- The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
Any of you guys have portfolios set up at 500px? Nice little site and some really talented photogs on there. - The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
