HC’ish Ornaments.

Started the process of naming all of my equipment after Marvel characters. Still have the Cyclops graphic for the Fiber laser that is still in bound.

All Christmas all week here as the orders are piling up.

The kits are taking off, and I haven’t even shown them my Christmas offerings. In the meantime, I got commercial rights to a ton of 3Dish images printing. They come out pretty great and will be even better when the Thunder Fiber laser I ordered for fun engravings shows up.

Kit No. 2

Spent the morning sort of woodworking. Thinking of selling these as a craft kit, as the cutting is by far the easiest part and the painting and gluing is a pain in the ass.

Productive day going through the countless, nearly identical keys I have to figure out what they open and engrave the thing on them.

Actually made something with wood today, though it is about the simplest project ever.

Going to have the new Thunder laser paid off by the time it gets here selling coasters.

He has been hanging around all day. I got a signed poster from him for the shop. Also got Schwarz to sign an Anarchist’s Toolbox hardcover for me. Some pics.

I know it is a long shot, but is anyone else going to the Handworks show https://handworks.co this weekend in Iowa? Think I will drive out and check out all the toys and try to see the keynote.

Some day I will actually get back to some woodworking, but tonight playing with Stainless Steel.

$.11 cent 4.25x4.25 wall tiles from HD, sprayed with white paint for the Titanium Dioxide and engrave and then clean off the paint in a bowl of thinner. Sold 136 of these yesterday to neighbors at $32/set of four or $10 each. $15 in tiles, $6 in paint and then the design work.

Moved to HD white tiles tonight. Much cheaper than slate and pretty damn nice when finished. Need to build a jig to make sure I can center images.

All that’s left is hanging the son of a bitch and seeing if it brings the wall down on top of me.

Used the laser and started no forest fires. The fume extraction system I ordered comes from Canadia for some reason, so the dog sleds should have it here in 8 weeks. c28c7dcecc0243b89db8031ea145f13a.mp4

It will not really be seen, unless someone really tall stops by. I will probably just make a cherry hat for it.

I am at the phase of the project where I am trying to hide my design flaws. At this point the top of the cabinet has exposed cherry plywood that I want to hide. Tried a first fix with the left over walnut from the drawer front but it was not long enough to run across the whole top or thick enough to recess all the way into the gap. I cannot decide if I like the wood, or the design, but do not want to mess with a whole new cherry top to cover the plywood and endgrain.

The cleat is baltic birch and I added 2” screws into the shelf aligned with the cleat. Did a couple coats of finish today while finally building the XTool D1 Pro. Only now realizing I have no idea how to make it work or where the tube of Unicorn Semen is supposed to go, as it is not discussed in the manual.
