  1. Yeah, talking about Steve’s comment about the Purple Heart being hard to cut. I am going to start with a dog toy chest tomorrow to figure out the domino thing.
  2. It comes with a fine tooth blade, but a universal or panther blade could be procured.
  3. The only blade I have is the one that came with the Festool track saw. Steve, do you cut out the posts to slip the shelves in there, or is that an optical illusion? I decided to upgrade to the full MFT or whatever table from Festool and got it set up tonight.
  4. Disney+ Is really the only one worth paying for as far as the various services are concerned. Netflix keeps raising pricing and throwing shitty subtitled movies from other countries on as new shows and Amazon has all the same shit as Netflix. If I am watching one of the services, it is almost always Disney+.
  5. With what is supposed to be a straight edge laying on the board, there is a tiny bit of bowing I guess.
  6. Also, though they gave me no fucking pencils this time.
  7. Going to try to make the hinged face out of strips this purple stuff. Maybe too heavy so may end up being the body.
  8. I will be close to the Des Plaines Owl when I drop off the dogs in the morning, but I will be in Kasia’s little SUV, so not sure what all I could fit.
  9. Yeah, might work for the top as I have to put some kind of LED up there and it will be the most visible part, most of the time. The mic holders are only small circles.
  10. Yeah, going to visit an actual lumber yard or two tomorrow to look for supplies. Outside of putting a plug in the pocket holes on the top, I am not sure how to make a nice top for the mic box without the domino thing. Just not sure if the local stores have them in stock, as it seems all the people that did not start podcasts during the plague, got into woodworking with Festool tools.
  11. Three upcoming projects: 1. 21”x16”x12” Box with lights and hinged glass inset front. Microphone mounts on the bottom board to hold three mics. Can do pocket hole connections I guess. 2. Vertical Shoe stand. Either Single board in the middle or two on the outside with angled shelves attached. 3. 2x4 Acoustic Panels with feet. This one is pretty easy. Pretty sure I am going to need some more tools to complete. Which do I need more, Domino joiner or router? Can’t think of anything to routerize except maybe power cord run for the light. Also, for the box and shoe stand, hardwood or plywood?
  12. Almost feels like I spent all this time, to build a pallet.
  13. Pretty much done with everything but staining, as it is too cold. Kasia did not like the box brace on the back so I have shorter corner braces on each corner. Hoping the 13 1.5x1.5 cross bars and the 4 14”ish 1.5x1.5 corner brace boards will be enough to keep it square.

I will say, while it is definitely well built, the function of the Latch Lake is a lot clunkier than the Triad-Orbits they are replacing.

Was able to put together one of the Mic Kings with the boxes FedEx managed to deliver today. Holy fuck, I am not sure if ramming these with my SUV would knock them over.
  17. After getting all the frame and horizontal pieces chopped up, I decided the circular saw was not the right tool for this job when I need fancy cuts for the back, so I got a cheap other wood cutty thing.
  18. Going to figure out how to set the wood cutter thingee to 45 degree angle and make corner braces like shown with leftover 1x1 boards. I think that will look better than a single cross piece.
  19. So, each of the 1x1 boards is going to be inset into the outer frame once I use the wood cutty thing. Will it stay square with 16 inset braces?
  20. There is no gate at the moment. Going to have the 1x1 cedar posts horizontal with narrow slits on the frame made by the 1x4 frame I think. Just trying to figure out how to frame it out for the cleanest look. Will be replacing the baby gate to keep my dogs from eating the neighbors.
  21. Okay wood nerds, I got a pile of sticks and a wood cutty thing. How do I make all this into a gate for my deck?

Got the new stands setup and the Barefoots off of the wobbly desktop stands. Still have none of the treatment in, or any notification of when it might come as GIK seems to not like answering the phone/e-mails. Even in the bad room, with a glass wall behind them they sound pretty fantastic. Then I used Sonarworks Reference 4 to treat the room and the sound is pretty great when playing back Qobuz using Sonarworks Systemwide.
