Random YouTube videos
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3382491587979249836 -- Hasselhoff covers an old tune, mocks himself in the video (lots of Knight Rider, a little bit of baywatch, no reference to the crotch shot gif, thank god). Bizarre.

Audio Technica headphone question -- closest to leatherhead?
That is a nice headphone. In some ways, better (although I'd have to A/B to know for sure). I'm definitely going to have to try that (is the W100 still in current production, or am I going to have to get an (ab)used model? Hey, nice sig.

AKG K1000 has two different drivers
Very interesting. I definitely need to know what you find out. Please. Do the drivers come in the cages? I presume you already know the answer to this question, but that's like 90% of the headphone/earspeaker right there...

Not likely. I'm not going to send them on any wild goose chases, and waste my karma that way.

Audio Technica headphone question -- closest to leatherhead?
Okay, so...I know someone who's going to Japan in a month or so, and they'd be amenable to picking me up something if I can tell them what it is. Is it still possible to get a Leatherhead in one of the local shops there, or are they all sold out, too? What's the going price over there? And do we know anyone who can scout ahead, so that I can tell them exactly where to go? These people aren't exactly headphone-shopping-savvy.

That would be too bad. I hope this is an exception (I'm not going to say I hope you're wrong, because your analysis seems correct).

I recommend that people should be able to change their own avatar. I can't seem to be able to do that. I don't want to be stuck with this stupid llama forever.

Audio Technica headphone question -- closest to leatherhead?
Awesome! Duct Tape -- the new wood. But then people are going to start comparing duct tapes. "...I got this NOS Hechinger's duct tape -- it's not just rebranded 3M, they had it made special -- slightly thinner, so it doesn't absorb as much, which is just what you want with a good driver like that..."

Audio Technica headphone question -- closest to leatherhead?
What current production Audio Technica headphones are closest in sonic signature to the leatherhead? Basically: a nice extended frequency response in both bass and high frequencies, no weird humps or lumps (at least, not extremely so); closed; smooth in the midrange, really smoov. ATH-W5000? I missed the boat on the leatherhead, and am regretting it. Yes, I could buy used, but in the meantime...

WTF is wrong with some people...
Actually, it's quite common, during an accident in which one vehicle rear-ends the other, for the rear vehicle to be totalled, and for the front vehicle to be fine. Both cars are in the process of braking, which lowers their fronts and raises their backs, impacting the rear car's most damageable portion (the radiator area) with the front car's most defended portion (bumper).
