  1. I had a conversation with CGAW. Nothing fancy, just apples and peeling vs. Veggie Wash. Didn't get nervous, didn't say anything stupid, just a normal conversation between two coworkers. Okay, maybe a little bit of a spaz, but...you know, baby steps.
  2. Ze Frank at his most hilarious (IMHO):
  3. I have definitely gone fully over to preferring music in digital format. I live with my Sony Walkman. I did buy the most recent The Fierce and the Dead album as the special deluxe version, but mostly for Mark Buckingham's fantastic artwork. No more accidentally buying the album twice! Bandcamp is the best -- if you own the album, you can download as many times as you need, so they are your backup. HDTracks, not so much: only three downloads. Me: https://junoreactor.bandcamp.com/album/the-mutant-theatre Fuck yeah, I love Juno Reactor so much. Energetic, mostly instrumental, mostly techno music, but there's something inimitable about him and his music.
  4. I recommend him (Peter Fabok). I have most of it from back when he gave away his music. Still a steal at that price. Now I just buy all his new releases at full price.

  6. For some reason, been really digging on Ben Howard lately. I get the impression he's popular. But I kind of dig his pastoral, lethargic, melancholy, ambient singer-songwritten songs.
  7. Okay, that's more than just the thing, that's the thing and all its zeitgeist...I have no idea how to respond to that.
  8. Sounds like, 'confused' would be appropriate. I've used 'confused' before to mean, "I have no idea how I feel about that".
  9. Blues guitarist Matt Guitar Murphy, Played with all the blues greats and was the guitar player in the Blues Brothers band
  10. Cheers -- great pic. It's fairly obvious that you all are related.
  11. Fucking PROG, man! https://prog-sphere.bandcamp.com/track/pandora-n-titolo-n-parole-2
  12. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  13. I'll keep it in mind if I ever go the noise cancellation route again. Every once in a while, my office mates get so rowdy that even my headphones don't mute them out.
  14. Ribeyes make everything better. Wine, not so much (for me, anyway).
  15. Fucking great set this week, Knucks.
  16. Unholy carp, really? Tell me more. My one experience with noise-cancelling headphones is that they seem to actually make conversations happening near me worse by eliminating all the background noise. That said, I'm happy with the isolating capabilities of the DT1770, so this will probably not lead to a purchase, but I am still curious.
  17. Lollers. Tell them what you said about that Tim Powers book...The Stress of Her Regard, was it? Or was it Hide Me Among the Graves?
  18. Comfort food (Berlin school electronica): http://din.org.uk/album/submission-02-dinddl20
  19. This is great work/study music -- a little more ...anxious than the sort of thing that Knucks plays, but otherwise similar genre: https://asc77.bandcamp.com/album/artefacts-of-rotation
  20. What was the preparation? It almost looks like a ceviche with a sear. I ❤️ ahi/tuna almost as much as salmon.
  21. That's not necessarily wrong, some people toe in speakers to be deliberately off-axis to tame the trebles and to interact with the room differently. I don't, but some people do.
