  1. Joana Serrat -- sort of a female Chris Isaak -- she even uses a lyrics that incorporates the words, "wicked games"
  2. Esperanto sounded more like Kraftwerk than Kraftwerk did, as did his other albums, Communication and Off the Record. Being synthpop, they definitely have a place in my life, but this one is so shockingly different, it satisfies a completely different itch. That jangle.
  3. Condolences to you and his family and friends
  4. I fully expect to need to post to this in the morning. EDIT: a little cottonmouth, but that's it.
  5. This is the lead song from Karl Bartos' (yes, that Karl Bartos) first solo album, Electric Music. I know what you're thinking -- "WTF?!?!?" It's heavily dosed with Johnny Marr. I can't find my Japanese CD. I really need to hear the whole thing again. Here is more or less the whole album on YouTube. Probably my favourite album from 1998.
  6. Happy birthday, Raffy! (party favour noise)
  7. Dusty want.
  8. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  9. Happy belated! (party favour noise)
  10. Joana Serrat, Dripping Springs Folky. Country, without being twangy. Melikey.
  11. You and me both.
  12. This might be the greatest act name of all time: https://spacechicken.bandcamp.com/album/the-transcendental-object-at-the-end-of-time-part-1 space rock
  13. They (and @Hopstretch) might like this, too, which is what I'm listening to, now: http://din.org.uk/album/node-live-din55
  14. I had my own answer until you said, "high WAF". When I was married, however, the wife was okay with two of these: ...but they were in the "library" (a repurposed guest room). Of course, she was the most easy-going, compatible (without being submissive) woman I've ever met, so...yeah, sorry, not helping.
  15. All of this.
  16. I believe it’s just cosmicground.bandcamp.com @Hopstretch here ya go: https://cosmicground.bandcamp.com/album/cosmic-ground-iv
  17. So great -- Berlin school electronica w/ lots of mellotron.
  18. Cheers, Uncle-in-law Bob! Condolences / RIP.
  19. Yeah, that was fantastic. I especially liked the muscle lady -- she was literally larger than life, and she acted the part, moving like a muppet at times. And she was definitely enjoying hamming it up.
  20. About to see Fever Ray
  21. Either it's crap, or I'm not in the mood for it, I'll try again when I'm less cranky. (Still pining over CGAW -- she was wearing this light orange/salmon dress with a very high hemline and black stockings and shoes that made me stumble, the other day. I'm over the worst of it, but God-dayum, she is fay-yun. I'm having trouble concentrating on her faults because so far I haven't found any. Other than she's not into me.) Now listening to the new Belly, Dove.
