  1. Can we just build an amp with bad stereo crosstalk numbers and pretend it is crossfeed?
  2. Ban, surely......
  3. Because you can make lowbrow jokes about having wood. "Ive got a plasticky" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
  4. Try this: http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/24/google-galaxy-nexus-unlocked-on-sale-gsm-hspa/
  5. Or perhaps it is the same as someone who can see colour, scoffing at someone who think they can see IR and UV.
  6. Oh, I didn't even realise that. I was tempted to build one for shits and giggles, but yeah, no way in hell I am buying one.
  7. Dunno, I reckon that there is a little bit of histrionics in there as well.
  8. Copy and paste into word tells me it has 10,970 words Mind you, he does consistently cut-and-paste-post the same platitudes over and over and over. Whether this is better or worse, I don't know......
  9. I'm so excited, I almost crapped my pants!

Oh wow, that takes me back. Such an awesome, hilarious, yet totally bizarre game. Any gamer worth their salt should try this one out.
  11. That is certainly at odds with my experiences. But then again, I did a factory reset after the update......
  12. Was there ever any doubt?

Interesting. I'm so glad these guys went over and above their initial gimmick.
  14. Fiiiiiiiiinally got official ICS for the Nexus S. Fantastic improvements all round over GB. Being able to put scrollable email and calendar widgets right there on the home screen makes accessing important info very, very efficient.
  15. What a BEAST! I wouldn't worry about the heatsink dings, but the loss of the volume knob is pretty harsh......
  16. Great idea! I was wandering aimlessly through the mall, and a bright shiny object caught my eye (see attachment). I'm absolutely smitten, and I haven't treated myself for a long time, so I just need to find a good price......
  17. I saw those on Canuck Audio Mart the other day. Nice buy!
  18. Heh, I've measured it up and would still be an inch over in either direction without major surgery, so don't make any modifications on my account! No matter, my Exstata can keep being used as-is until it kerplodes. The money can go into some fancy casework for a 'Bate'.
  19. Excellent. With the existing power supply and transformer the unreg DC is 335-340V for the 300V output, so again, a drop in replacement.
  20. Awesome, thanks! It will be a tight squeeze in the case, but this might now be a drop-in replacement for my Exstata. Just one last question...... what is the approximate voltage headroom required for proper regulation?
  21. This thread in combination with the 'something different' thread inspired me to sit down and compare the HD650 with the SR-Lambda again. Neither set of phones is powered by anything particularly elaborate, with the HD650 run from my well-specced/upgraded Crack, and the Lambda from my Exstata. Less than five minutes in and they are chalk and cheese. Taken alone, the HD650 do have that comfortable warm bass response, and are nice and easy to listen to, and compare well to my other dynamic phones...... but in almost every other respect they can't hold a candle to the Lambdas. The clarity and speed of the Lambda is just FAR superior. I could criticise them for being a tiny bit intense in the treble, maybe a touch sibilant, but that is just nit picking their accuracy. Frankly, it astounds me how good these old phones sound, especially since I am using what some consider to be a crappy amp.
  22. Not an error..... but is there any possible way that you can fit a voltage divider for normal bias on the power supply board?
  23. I'm throwing money at the screen, but nothing is happening
  24. Would a CCS on just the first and second stages be possible? I can't imagine that they are running a lot of current, so shouldn't need huge heatsinks or board space......
