  1. All I'm saying is any driver is better off with snow tires than without. More traction is always better than less. If you don't think you need them, that's fine. For me, I'll take them when I can. I'd rather be driving a car with more traction than one with less.
  2. driver caution doesn't help in an evasive maneuver. it's always safer to have more traction.
  3. yah, about 2 miles from where my kid plays hockey
  4. appletv and airport express are still good options
  5. Timely thread. I think I'm going to buy the nokian wrg2s for my pilot.
  6. nice rack

  8. good luck boo
  9. 2 tires. I'd driven to gaithersburg for my daughter's soccer lesson, and my tire got damaged. So I had to scramble to find tires that fit. Luckily costco had some in stock, because everyone else was $75+ more per tire. They didn't have appointments available, but made room for me because I was stranded.
  10. Yah, go with good all season tires. Even in winter, the roads between columbia and balto and dc will be wet way more often than snowy, and the 4 times the conditions will be more favorable for snow tires, you'll want to stay off the road, because everyone else will switch to racing slicks and get drunk before going out.
  11. Ben, how far from the cities are you? How often do you plan on leaving the main corridor?
  12. It's hard to appreciate how much of a difference snow tires make til you have them
  13. I've had good results with both blizzacks and michelin X-Ice. I definitely recommend studless vs studded tires, unless you're mostly going to use them in wet icy conditions. And even then, I'd get studless.
  14. dfh bitches brew. I love my beer store. they'd been holding it for me since it was released.
  15. plus I got dibs last night.

  20. Seagate 3TB USB External HDD - dealmac.com
  21. Yah, I MUCH prefer the form factor of the TTVJ Slim.
  22. Personally, I'd stick with local drives for backup. Stick stuff in your mobile me idisk if you want to share it, but the idea of restoring any quantity of data over the internet gives me the heebie geebies
  23. I'm happy with the volume control on my ttvj slim. The biggest difference between the two for me is that there's a knob on the pico, and a little color led on the ttvj. Makes it harder to control without looking at it. Probably makes more of a difference on other headphones, but I've only ever used the ttvj with my jh13s
  24. heh, ok, get a couple of 3tb external drives, use the 2nd for a time machine backup, and have a tb extra, for less than the cost of a drobo
